  • Space Pirates and Zombies
  • FTL: Faster Than Light
  • Mark of the Ninja

And as many others have already mentioned:

  • To the Moon

I just finished playing it. I hope you like drinking your own tears because the story is that !@#$ing touching. I see it in your library. Stop reading this and go play it. All at once. Now.

I would recommend Trine 2, playing it co-op even if with just one other person is really fun. The graphics are also really amazing for the type of game and I'd consider it replayable (also only got about 1/3 of the achievements in my first playthrough, so there's that incentive). The first Tine is also good but it's not co-op, so that's why I personally prefer the second. I recommend playing this game with a controller though, if you have one. (Both Trine 1 & 2 have good controller support with customisable button mapping)

Then if you like Diablo-like games, there's Path of Exile (F2P) and Torchlight II. Both have their perks, Path of Exile is a bit lacking in storyline, in my opinion, but I just like playing it more. Torchlight II is fun as well, and an added perk to me is that you can play it offline (Steam/Internet down? Torchlight II here I come! XD)

Other games that I haven't as yet had a chance to play but have interested me are Don't Starve, Bastion and Mark of the Ninja. A friend of mine showed me LIMBO as well and is enjoying that.

Here's a few I recommend =

Orcs Must Die (TD game)
Gone Home (point&click)
To the Moon (retro adventure)
Brothers: Tale of Two Sons (Best Indie i played in 2013)
Torchlight 2 (action/rpg)
Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten (TD)
Sanctum 1 or 2 (Action / TD)

All where fun to play!

It depends on what you mean by "indie" (indie is just so mainstream now :D), but if you like small games with short (few hours) storyline or roguelikes (I know it's not the definition of indie, please don't kill me, steamgifters), I really recommend:

  • FTL: Faster Than Light, it's hard and compelling, you're going to hate this game for a bit but play and play and finally win. Oh, and there'll be a big update soon.
  • To the Moon, a story-driven "game" and a massive tearjerker.
  • Gemini Rue, I just started it but the story seems interesting and the graphics and controls are really retro, so good for a bit of nostalgia.
  • Don't Starve, a survival game, a bit creepy but with a lot of possibilities.
  • Super Hexagon, I couldn't believe someone made a game with such a simple idea and controls, but it works and it's fun.

I would recommend Bastion too, but everyone already did. :)
