Store your PC game saves on the cloud, automatically and forever!

Sounds ominous...

Does this actually work?
And what does 10 free slots mean? 10 slots for each game or only backup 10 games?

I think 10 games.. but I hope not

Seems like it is. Now that's a downer. You better of using GameSave Manager in conjunction with Google Drive or DropBox.

Everyone who wants cloud saves should be doing this. Gamestow is a rediculously overpriced con for a service you can get for free.

10 games ...

Of course they should. Try convincing the developers. Now it's too late for your saves, regardless. Seems fitting that I'd forgotten to backup my ME1&2 saves as well.

Solution for this year > use Dropbox

at least 20 hours for ME is relatively little

That's 20 hours of your life wasted. ME is only 25 hours long anyway if you were to complete every single side mission so he was nearly done with the entire game.

LoL I just wanted to rage about losing 20 hrs I don't mind..its a lesson I had to learn the hard way. Overall I wanted to rage about Steam and how their its odd that random games have cloud saves.. like the smallest games (Splice) would have cloud saves and big games like Lost planet 2 wouldn't. I would assume its developer thing but I'm sure steam has the capital n resource to back every save see that save files are relatively small

my steam would always "apphangb1/stop responding and never open" so i uninstalled it, lost every single game in my library and all my saves as far as i know

(havent got around to dl the bigger games back im on satellite net so i got a 10gb/month cap -_-)
so i feel your pain

as an option, not as a requirement see GFWL and losing all our saves due to their lousy cloud (steam is better though)

You must not be very well informed.
GFWL has never had a cloud.
Xbox live has cloud saves but GFWL does not.
GameSaveManager + Dropbox can place your saves and GFWL profile in the cloud via Dropbox or any other cloud storage solution. (Meaning you will not loose your GFWL saves or achievements)

Have lost saves on both so either way games were lost.

Never heard of game save manager, but thanks for letting me know

You're not listening.

You didn't lose cloud saves on GfWL because GFWL does not HAVE cloud saves.

And first step would be, that all games would have universal saves location like My Documents. I threw My documents into Drobox for games saves cloud syncing and formatted my hard drive since computer was running slow and I was thinking that my saves were safe. But the biggest surprise was, that Sleeping Dogs and some other games use some stupid savegame location out of Documents folder and i lost save at 30 hours of playtime at the last two missions in Sleeping dogs. That's why i will probably never complete this game I generally liked.

Who is going to pay the costs for all of this cloud storage for game saves because people are incapable of backing up data?

I suggest using SpiderOak to backup all your save game data. That's what I do. It's like a version of dropbox that doesn't suck.

i thought it saved my la noire saves... i was sad i played 18 hours

It doesn't matter how many hours you played. It matters how much you have accomplished. For instance stupid Rockstar Social Club didn't save Bulletproof Windshield achievement when I unlocked it. And it's one tough achievement. And then when I looked at the site last time, about two months ago or so, I barely had any unlocked achievements.

Get Gamesavemanager.

Is it reliable?

When using sync and link with say dropbox, as long as the game does not corrupt the file when saving (which would cause issues anyway) and you allow dropbox to sync it to the cloud. its pretty solid.
even without sync and link it does the job well.

I lost my Portal 2 save once because it conflicts with Steam cloud
GameSave Manager is more reliable I think. And oh, my Internet is not that good for uploading so I had to disable some Steam cloud for some games with big save files

Actually it would be cool if we had an option to save directly to Steam. For some people who have Steam in different PCs they could share their save files.
