Skyrim is one of the most popular games on steam. It was also one of the most expensive at one point. Everyone gets excited whenever they hear anything to do with Skyrim, so some sad kids decide to post it in threads that they don't understand.

Hey guys,
there is one thing that I simply fail to understand. People often comment "Thanks for the skyrim" or similar on totally unrelated stuff. When people post fake or duplicate codes, at least one guy will thank for Skyrim.
So, my question is: What the fuck is that Skyrim craze and can anyone of you explain it to me?
I do understand that perhaps many people think that Skyrim is a good game, but I think that it's so taken out of context.
EDIT:
I now heard that this is some kind of meme.
New questions then: Why is it still successful? Why hasn't it died down yet?
NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW QUESTION!
Why Skyrim? Why not GTA IV Complete Edition?
Seerusly, why exactly Skyrim?
