The game isn't really my preferred genre and it does seem a bit unpolished in parts, but it does look like quite an adequate game, and certainly better than some of the shit games available on Steam already. I'm personally interested in the game and would consider purchasing it to play even if I don't receive this for free by voting for it.

If you don't like the game, or wouldn't want it, then don't vote for it.

Just because some people enjoy different games than you do, you're automatically dismiss them as shit? While it does seem to lack a bit of polish, the gameplay sounds interesting enough. I'd rather get that on Steam rather than yet another bland shooter.

I'm kinda with him on this point. The "change dimensions" mechanic is overused and not even that interesting in itself, and the free key thing is the only thing that got this thing greenvoted.

Also, you're talking about bland shooters, but crappy platformers like this one are much more common and easier to make.

I pseudo-agree with japiotrek. Don't vote for a "promise" of a key. How many times has this community been burned? ahem-slaughtering grounds And now that trash is making cash.

you're right, but don't be so rude. problem is not with his game or with us, but with whole Greenlight system, it's rotten and unreliable. at least as long Valve does not control what is adds to GL.

fortunately for us Greenlight should be disconnected in the future

in the meantime GL holds for us a lot of true gems 1 2 3 4 5

i have to give them credit for having a demo

i will vote for more games but i also do not think vote for a key without even playing the game is the way to go

now they have a demo i would think people would try that before voting but so many will skip it just because of "free key" i think if whoever creates a game that if there game is that good they would give away limited keys and let word of mouth help vote there game and sell it.i think they need to just all together eliminate the free key for voting aspect of it

It's so weird that people keep posting +1s in this thread, because the Alter World guy even actually delivered. I have to wonder how they're even coming across it, you really have to search to get here.

I hate the complete "vote for crap and get the crap free once greenlit".

Its not a rant against THIS game, because I haven't bothered to look at it, it's a rant about the complete thing.

The idea of greenlight is that some kind of quality control happens, BUT because every little crap game is advertising their free key for a vote and tons of morons fall for it because they only see the "free key" part.
That makes the complete greenlight process pointless.

sorry, it had to be said, it's botteling up in me for quite some time.

Quality Control and Free don't work together.

You can either pay and have proper Quality Control, or you can be stingy like Valve and you get Greenlight (or Steam Forums, or Steam Support).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Who said anything about quality AND free?

If a game is good, I'm happy to pay. My point was, that this way there are too many games on steam which aren't their moneys worth. Most of them find that out after they got greenlit and want to sell their game for money, but almost nobody buys it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Err, Valve did when they introduced Greenlight, when they said marketing bla-bla that translates to normal as "we're greedy, make Quality Control for us".

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, it looks like there's some quality control after all, this game was in the top 10 before the new batch of today, and the previous one. Many other games who have been promoted with the "vote and get your key" trend were in the top 50 before the today batch, and they're not in the greenlit list... Valve has maybe decided to check how was promoted a game before adding it to the list ?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If I'm not mistaken here, this game "should" be in the the batch twice.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Almost every single one of these "free key, if greenlit" games look like crappy freeware games from the 90s. Those devs should realize that people are only voting for their games because of the free key. They would never pay anything for the games and the devs will end up with hardly any sales. Not that these games should be even bought.

Sigh, I'm tired of this trend so much. If your game looks interesting and/or has a demo that interests people you will get voted up and if not you won't. Glad Greenlight is going away, sure a lot of gems got through greenlight, but this system should have some heavy amounts of quality control.

I for one prefer not clickable links. you still can mark it and use the "open link in a new..." method.

With clickable links you never can be sure that the link text and the actual link are the same and paranoid people would have to "check" the link first.

especially in forums like here theres always a chance someone is hiding a scam/phising link.

I don't have "open link in a new..." in Opera; I only have "Go to web address" which uses the current tab. It's inconvenient.

There used to be AFAIR shift+middle click on any selected text to open it as an url in a new tab, but that was back in the days when Opera was an awesome browser (before v15). Now we all are in exile :-/. (in Obi Wan's voice: you were supposed to only switch the rendering engine, not destroy the browser!!! :-( )

You know what, I can't even blame the developers anymore for getting their shitty games greenlit like this. It's the fault of the retards who go like "omg +1 for my library YESSSSSSSSS" and get this shit on Steam. Once they do away with Greenlight we're probably going to see something akin to the Xbox live indie game store where 99% of the stuff on there is liquid shit.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I only voted because there are far worse games doing the same thing.
I don't usually like these types of games, however, there are so many shitty greenlight games that if I can push this up the list a bit maybe it'll knock another one out.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, if I won't get my key then it will be the last time I voted for any Greenlight game that I haven't seen anywhere else. Getting tired of these "Vote to get key" 5 days later "Sorry, we can't give you key. Didn't know it won't be possible. Just buy our game now!" Same goes for kickstarters. Way too many of them are pure scams.
