I have read the rules which I understand and I'm really interested in this great group as I really enjoy giving away games, especially in such a small group with the friendliest and most generous of SG users! I might not that be prolific of a user on the forums but I promise that I'll participate in group events like La Cirno De Mayo and chat with you guys (those duels of yours sound very interesting)! I've really wanted to join this group along with a few others for a while but I am shy. Final Note: I love how the advanced group interface makes for extreme levels of interactivity and hope that you'll consider my application! I want to duel with someone!

So, I stumbled across your group a while back and the concept really intrigued me. I've become addicted to the metagame of collecting games and achievements, and more recently giving away games and increasing my SG level so combining the two is great. Plus I'm a big geek so ArchiBot and all his cool features are pretty awesome.
I've read the rules, and have been waiting for an opportunity to apply. I am more of a forums guy, but will join the chat also from time to time.
Edit: Since the competition is really heating up I figured I should make my resume a bit more grandiose. While I'm not exactly a weeb, I do enjoy anime and manga though mostly cyberpunk stuff like Akira, GitS, Psycho-Pass, etc. and I've been to Tokyo, but don't ask me about my Japanese because I only know a couple phrases. I haven't played much 100% Orange Juice, but that's more of a lack of people to play with so I would like to join in on that as well.
I wouldn't say I'm recognized here on SG, but I've become more involved and my ratio speaks for itself. Plus I play all my wins. I would really like the opportunity to participate in your group, so thanks for the consideration!

Question: Why is this a "VIP recruitment"? Are you recruiting VIP members (with certain duties?) or is this just a special kind of recuiting (picking members instead of accepting the first x people who apply and meet the requirements)?

We've never simply accepted the first people who posted and met our requirements - those are more of a "you must at the very least pass these in order to be considered". This is considered a VIP thread because unlike other threads where we were looking to significantly expand our group (which means our approach was "within a week,we'll recruit 10 to 20 members") now we're looking for (normal) members who satisfy a very high standard. Practically,this means our approach is different in two ways: We're going to be MUCH more selective,and we're not limited by time - if and when someone we have a collective agreement on appears,we'll send an invite,but we have no problem with this thread being open for many months to come,if deemed necessary.
We've reached a point where the number of members in our group is to our liking,but we also want to give anyone a chance to apply. If we stopped recruitment completely,we may be deriving ourselves of some very nice members. And I mean..every once in a while,we do love ourselves some..fresh blood ;)

thanks for explaining, it's kind of along the lines of what I thought (and I didn't mean it as "but you used to take everybody who was willing and level 2", I just used that example because that's what a lot of groups seem to do).

Hi, I already tried applying during previous recruitments but with no particular success.
So I'll just leave my resume:
- Meet all member requirements.
- Have read the rules and agree to follow them.
- Like the idea of a small tightly connected group with it's own point system.
- Not very chatty person, but may visit the chat from time to time.
- Not sure if "recognized" on the forums, but oh well.
- Have a good giveaway ratio.

My application is that I can follow rules and nobody has ever complained about my ratio. And you seem to have some of my friends in there and it looks like a nice place where I can make and enter giveaways when I feel the need. I like the group concept, but on the downside if I am 'known' in SG it is for being an erratic drunkard who draws pictures of Gaben with boobs.

You got two things wrong: One,you don't need to sign in on our website; And two,no one gets automatically invited.

What is Touhou Giveaways?

The Touhou Giveaways group was founded by Archi on February 18th 2015. We're a small, ratio-based group, sharing the spirit of giving away and winning games on SteamGifts. You might already recognize us from awesome events that we organize from time to time.
We have implemented many unique features into the simple concept of a private giveaway group, and today we are one of the most "technologically advanced" group that exists on SG. The objective is simple: the group should be a nice addition to the SteamGifts community and should require no extra effort from the member.
All group giveaways are tracked by our bot, which automatically adds new giveaways to the database, track winners, calculate points and ratio, detect current/finished giveaways, calculate statistics, and even reward members with our very own touhou achievements! Our group is fully automated, and thanks to that, our members can focus on creating and winning giveaways, instead of being forced to manually add them through the website or post links in a group thread. This way everybody is happy to make giveaways the same way as public or private giveaways, and ArchiBoT does everything else.
To make the precious data gathered by the bot available for the members, we also coded our very own Touhou Giveaways website, which acts as a "frontend" to the data gathered by the bot. Members can check their stats, ongoing giveaways, giveaways won and many other useful information we provide in a nice, fancy and modern way.
We're still actively working on improving our group even further.
