If you wanna add them all to your account quickly and easily. Log into steam with the browser and run this from the store page. http://pastebin.com/ENuNZsyw just copy paste it into your browser console and hit enter. Now you have all the F2P games on your account. This is for people that like hoarding games or if you want a little free exp.

Enjoy!

-IMPORTANT EDIT. Valve seems to have patched F2P games from giving EXP. I still have all my games for now. I suspect they will vanish at some point though. User lunboks was kind enough to post a script to remove free licenses on page 4. You might still need to remove some manually though.

I made a script that nukes every license with the word(s) trailer, teaser, demo, cinematic, PEGI, and ESRB.

For those that want it, I guess. Should clear up a couple hundred crap licenses. Don't forget to close the Steam client before running it.

nice, but some games still stay in license page.

It's just pattern matching so it doesn't catch everything. You'd need a list of sub IDs for all trailers and demos, and I'm not sure where to get that.

Also, nuking all F2P games is probably not a good idea. You don't want to remove stuff that's giving you card/booster drops.

I think Valve took in consideration the f2p games that count as +1 game to library, I had 519 games, now 499, I didn't used your method, but I added some f2p games manually, seems they count but not for a long time, or at least not anymore.

I lost games with this ....
I jumped from 114 games to 101... less than i actually have on my library(103).
DON'T DO THIS!

Heh, looks like they took back the free XP, but didn't lower the gained levels. Now I have 255XP to next level instead of 200.

oh and I was thinking why it says I need 218xp when is 200 ex per level when you're 10-20 level, so that's why.

Same thing here, the f2p games still count on my library. I activated game keys after I run the script so maybe that's the trick.

Nothing. The client just hangs and uses 100% CPU when there's a lot of rapid license updates.

At least for me. Probably depends on your library size and the shittiness of your computer (on a laptop ATM).

Ah, much better without all of those F2P showing up. I didn't add them for the exp, but I had a bunch that I had launched for Playfire credit.

I can't open https://store.steampowered.com/account/ now. Neither with my phone, my browser, with my client.
I think it is a parser error and it happened after I used that script a week ago.
Any ideas how to fix that?

Don't bother doing this now, they seem to have fixed it and all you end up with is a messy purchase history :\

Normally installing, then uninstalling them removes them from your library.

Ah. Cannot help there. Haven't seen such a thing, only the opposite.
Or you may contact Support and ask them to do that. They will, it is their job, but it may take weeks before such a low-priority ticket is even looked at.

If it's been bothering you for such a long time, why won't you just manually remove them one by one?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Actually, I wrote a script with help of some friends. It worked and i got rid of them. And i couldn't remove them manually because there were nearly 2k licenses, it would have taken ages. But anyways,t he problem is solved. Let's end it here and not bump this dead thread without reasons.
