Been using this for a while, and have to say I'm loving it, as one of those people who find a wall of thanks to be little more than spam. Lets me get to the interesting comments faster. :D

That's a good idea. There's no way to do that currently, but I'll try to find time in the next few weeks to add that.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take a look at it and see what I can do.

I'm afraid I haven't had much success. Chrome seems very unhappy with userscripts these days. I recommend installing Tampermonkey, which is a Chrome extension designed to behave like Greasemonkey. Then go here to install the same script that the Firefox people are using. Hopefully that helps.

I made a user script for Firefox which removes all simple "thank yous" in each page of comments for giveaways and replaces them all with one single comment mentioning everyone who said thanks. This keeps the other comments from being drowned out but still lets you see everyone who thanked.
Comments like "Thanks", "Thank you", "thx", "ty" and other common variations are filtered out and moved to a "thanks summary" above the comments. Comments with a personal touch, such as "Thanks, Joe", are not filtered out; neither are any comments which have replies or contain links.
This is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I hope that some of you will find it useful.
To Install
Update (5 October 2013): It seems that Chrome isn't as happy running userscripts as it used to be, so I'm removing the link to the native Chrome userscript and recommending Tampermonkey, an extension that allows Chrome to use regular Greasemonkey scripts.
Update (26 April 2012): The latest version is now 1.3
To update, simply go to the relevent page and press the big green "Install" button - the update process is exactly the same as for installing the script in the first place.
Version History
version 1.3
version 1.2
version 1.1
