Great tutorial! I didn't know the first Assassin's Creed could be activated on Uplay. And I didn't know this trick! I've activated two games last week by installing them first. Thanks a lot :)

I bought AC1 when Uplay wasn't out yet, so it doesn't have a key. I'm not sure if new retail copies come with uplay keys.

Where did you find your AC key on Steam, i dont have a link on my game page, is it somewhere in registry ?

This is exactly what I experience with my Steam version of Driver:SF (Number 55). As I said, it's bugged.

I used number 69 now as a test and it works (beside the fact, that I don't have a key for it ;)
Make sure, that you have a space after the "...uplay.exe". Also I don't recommend pasting my path to the Uplay.exe in the dialog-box, because I had to use "/" instead of "\".

What do you mean replace XXXX with your game number, what game number is this?

All games that are on steam need to have their own separate number, i just tried with Far Cry 2 and EndWar and it doesnt work with steam keys. Do you know their assigned numbers, did you create this list or pasted it from somewhere ?

As I said, probably all Steam keys don't work.
The list can be viewed, if you go to your data folder. There are folders with the numbers. This list is from an old reddit topic, where somebody else made a list. Somebody in this forum linked to this list a few weeks(?!) ago and I saved it :)

+1 tried to redeem Call of Jurez The cartel which i already redeemed on steam and it didn't work

i am alive doesnt redeem, at least for me. it's a key i got from ubistore, and customer support told me the key is good (as if i didn't know that already) and that it should work on uplay.
i'm going to send them a printscreen proving the contrary

Good luck. My last ticket got answered in the best manner ever: after 10 days they sent me 7 (seven!!) times the same generic bot message within 15 minutes. Only when I have politely pointed out that I am a human and don't like to talk to bots, they aswered. -_-

You still have to launch Uplay even if you have the game on Steam.

I feel forced to use it because I got FC3; Blood Dragon free from the AMD promo and had to install Uplay to use it.. At least the exploit relied on people clicking uplay:// links themselves rather than it being an inherent backdoor available for exploitation when Uplay was running or some such. Also, it wasn't a rootkit.. It was a bug that allowed execution of unsigned commands, directly to the kernel. Meh, I just never have Uplay running, unless I want to play Blood Dragon.

when i enter the 22 for anno 2070 it does not even ask for a key, just if i wanted to bind it to my account :O

Is there a difference between AC and AC Directors? I have an old retail of it and it's already the Directors Cut and it comes without any key or Uplay, so you can't activate it there.

No idea, what the ID for it could be. But if someone has installed the game, he could tell us the ID by looking it up in this "data" folder.

"-upc_uplay_id XXX" part does not work for me. I made sure the path is correct but when I enter "C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/uplay.exe -upc_uplay_id 85" it says the path is incorrect. Any tips?

I think, you never have to activate these, because they automagically redeem on the account you bought the game with. Though not sure. At least this happend with my Spliter Cell Conviction when it was free. Otherwise your only chance is to download the installer. (You should have gotten a link for it, download it fast, I've heard they expire)
