I wonder what games this guy has given away that aren't DLC or Bundle Keys or whatever? I am glad I am in a private group that was created by people who give away TONs of games with few strings attached (other than give if you receive).

o An idea to get folks to join would be to buy up two dozen or so copies of a decent game like Organ Trail that will garner a lot of interest and accept only that number of people in and if they giveaway a game each and BAM you have 24 gifts + 24 new gifts from the 24 new members.
o Bottom line: without a lot of propping up by you and other core members with contests and giveaways etc. you are likely to be seen as just another game leech trying to start a little club and designate themselves the "idea guy" and thus avoid committing any money or work.
Read it or don't but good luck and may God bestow upon you Bioshock Inifinite, BLOPS II and whatever other games you are wishing for instead of barely legal indie bundle detritus consisting of games that never get played and DLC for said games.
To make things work you have to do work and spend some money. In the private group I am in many people gift A LOT and the people who gift lots of gifts tend to get it back tenfold often receiving AAA titles and such as a thank you for their generosity.

Foxpile, it's not you people have a problem with, but dudezx and his rules, and that is the reason this group isn't getting the attention that private groups usually do on SG.
He added me and a few of my friends randomly yesterday offering invites, so I'm assuming he just looked at the top contributors list, which seems like very leechy and desperate behaviour. Also, what he posted on my wall is just embarrassing (funny though).
That said, I do like your outlook, so good luck with the group and I hope things work out.

Even asking people to create a giveaway every month is worse than it sounds. True generosity will flourish when someone wants to give something away, rather than being forced to.
Giveaway groups rise and fall all the time. Most of them fail because the creator lets the wrong people in or creates the group for primarily selfish reasons.

Foxpile, I think you should create your own group separate from dudezx. From what I have gathered so far, it seems like you are doing almost all of the work/revisions to make the group better while dudezx doesn't do much but stalk SG girls and posts some pretty creepy comments on their profile. Your own group will probably get more applicants and less troll remarks since you seem to be on the level while dudezx has already set a bad example by regifting games, not even following his own group rules by creating an initial group giveaway himself, etc.
