I purchased Day of Defeat on GameFly from Day of Defeat and when I activated it, it showed 8 games:

  • Counter-Strike
  • Team Fortress Classic
  • Day of Defeat
  • Deathmatch Classic
  • Half-Life: Opposing Forces
  • Ricochet
  • Half-Life
  • Half-Life Blue Shift

I was only missing 3 of those but it added them to my library. Quite a deal for $1 after the MAR20OFF coupon code.

Update: Faraqona pointed out that the key from GameFly seems to be redeeming this package rather than just the single game: Day of Defeat

Worked for me too, bought in the UK. It needs to be Day of Defeat NOT Day of Defeat: Source.

Bought it now, says "A problem retrieving the activation key this game. For more information please contact GameFly Customer Support." I buy from the UK store since I'm in Europe.

If you have checked out successfully, the go to your account, and find you key in the section Purchase History. It happened twice today to me.

Says "Under Review", I think I realized why, since I changed my nationality I went to a bank to change the info there too, but in the purchase of Gamefly my info was the old one.

But my card is the same with my old info, maybe they must send me a new card, but they didn't yet, but I can't even log with my old info to my bank account -.-

Edit: I could enter my bank account just using my new identification number and same password, but doesn't shows that I paid. But Gamefly never asked for my identification number so I can't understand why the purchase didn't work if this is the reason, my mother bought 1 week ago using my card and no problems, seems the reason is something else.

Can I cancel this purchase and purchase again?

Says "Day of Defeat Retail"

Thank you. This actually leads me to believe that it is just a bug and Valve will fix it, since there aren't entries for the other games.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Maybe, but old Valve games were often sold as retail keys that included more than 1 game. My Steam account was founded on a HL2 retail key that came with CSS and DODS.

I found this on steamdb: http://steamdb.info/sub/2/#section_apps
It's a package named Day of Defeat that contains these games, I guess this is what we got.

1 decade ago

No, it is a PACKAGE. Here.

1 decade ago
Permalink

It is not "Retail" here just "Day of Defeat" it is sub id 2 in the DB which includes the CS1 Anthology.

This works with every old Half Life/Day of Defeat/etc. copy, that got released before or in first years of Steam launch. I used to buy plenty of old Half Life CDs to get the keys some years ago ;)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I can confirm this. I recently found my CD copy of the original Half-Life purchased some 15 years ago, threw the CD-key into Steam and got all those 8 games, apparently labeled the "Half-Life Platinum Pack".

It works after you activate the key.

Almost certainly not.

No. I also bought the Source one and it only activated that.

@OP: you may add this detail: this purchase seems to be the PACKAGE named Day of Defeat, not the game itself.
