I've been using the site for some time now and it's very nice to see how it has changed and evolved over time with so many new additions.

I have compiled a short list of some ideas that I think could benefit the site even more. Some small, minor, and maybe even a little silly, but here are some recommendations. If anyone has their own recommendations, feel free to post them here as well!

  1. Marking a game as received should automatically require a forced Account Sync. All duplicate giveaways the user has entered should also be automatically withdrawn and the points refunded.

  2. Information regarding disallowed keys/games should be posted on the main page. Perhaps a bright green, scrolling news banner about it at the top of the page. Basically, in the same spot where it warns you that you won a giveaway. Perhaps there should also be a warning on the "Create a Giveaway" screen when a user tries to post a game that is featured in a bundle of some sort. Let's say for instance you wanted to make a giveaway for The Void. An extra checkbox could appear on the screen saying: WARNING: This game was/is featured in an indie bundle! If you agree to this term, and it is discovered this is a key from such a bundle, you run the risk of having your account permanently banned!

  3. A preview comment/post button when creating a new discussion in the forums

  4. Color-coded entries in the "View Entries" list so the user can identify Group, Contributor, Private, or Public giveaways at a glance.

  5. Clicking on someone's name in chat should put a @NAME in your chatline so you know who you're responding to. The highlight color is difficult to see on certain monitors, if at all.

  6. Won gifts appear blanked out when the owner of the account is viewing them in the "Gifts Won" list via the Profile. Shouldn't be so. The owner knows they entered those giveaways because they won them :).

I agree with all of the above
also: local timestamps in chat. Confused the hell out of me for a bit

cg took some time to test the local timestamps with me.
Is it broken (again) or are you in an "unusual" time zone?

Sorry, I can't check it right now, the chat does not work on my laptop with an old version of Opera portable.

That's strange. I'm CEST (aka GMT+1 and currently +1 Summer Saving Time) and the timestamps show up correctly (switched to pc).
If you see cg in the chat you can drop him a line ;)

Agree to all :D
a little additional : Marking a game as received should also check winner steam library to prevent winner trade the game.

Why not adding the possibilty to giveaway a key of a bundle indie game for 1 or 0 points, but appearing as that on the list when you create the giveaway. And also easy identifiable on the giveaway list (regular site). It seems the fastest way to try to skip the problem.

OK, I start preparing the bonfire to save you time ¬¬

2 is great. 1st will be very resource-consuming and probably will not be implemented.

I agree on all, except 5 and 6

Agreed. PLUS possibility to sort in "View entries" by title/status/entries/entered, that one's been bugging me for some time now.

I've got one too: giveaways with limited entries i.e. I'm making giveaway for Fortix and I'm setting limit of people who can enter to 50 to give these who entered more chance to win this masterpiece.

The most important IMO:

Highlighting new comments in followed topics (auto-follow when adding comment).

SUBFORUMS!!!
