Here

What do you guys think about, I don't know much about the games so

Games, Stacking $7.50, Psychonauts $2, Costume Quest $3, oh so fine bundle which includes all of the games $10, all are steam redeemable, the bundle will give you separate codes for each game

Just put an US address and you can still buy them, do that for any other amazon download

EDIT: Thanks to movac who pointed this out | I should point out that the $2 Psychonauts deal is today only, tomorrow it goes up to $4. So if you're on the fence, decide soon.

Stacking is awesome, Costume Quest is pretty cool and Idk about Psyconauts but from what I've heard it was very popular. Good find :D

Just a shame it's not available on the UK site, lol

Yes, that US only limitation is annoying.

If you input a US address you can get the games even if you live in the UK.

I figured you could but I am a very lazy man you see. Would be much easier for me if it was UK, lol

Won't using a US billing address cause problems with the credit card billing?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Usually it doesn't cause any issues, but there could be a tic mark that asks if your billing address is the same, but since nothing is actually being delivered it usually works.

Also I love the Jolly Rover guard dog avatar. Only reason I know that is because I am doing a playthrough on my youtube channel.

I did that for Darksiders but then my bank charged me for currency conversion meaning I saved very little money.

There are more then enough other sellers who wants my money.

Sorry, but I have to hijack this and yell:

PSYCHONAUTS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

(and this Inceptionauts trailer makes me cry with joy)

Really, IMHO, it is the most creative game I have ever played in my life -- and playing games has been my main hobby for more than 20 years. Play it!

Cheers!

Wow, wow, wow. That is an AMAZING trailer!
One of the best fan trailers I've ever seen.

Psychonauts is easily the best game out of all the ones in that sale. Its also the cheapest. No brainer. (I have played all of them)

Thanks for that awesome fan trailer, that one is definitely better than the official ones out there and makes you wanna play Pschonauts right now! :)

I bought the double fine bundle back when it was still a "double" meaning only two games, so them adding another kinda peeves me a little bit. But anyways. They are nice fun games that remind me of the N64 days, but with some better graphics. I would say its worth it.

Psychonauts and Costume Quest are very fun. I hadn't played Stacking yet, so picked up 3 bundles for giveaways but keeping 1 copy of Stacking for myself :) Since after-all I haven't been let down by Double Fine.

Would you see Costume Quest as better than Psychonauts?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Haven't played Psychonauts since back on the psx and just recently played Costume Quest, so it would be biased as I don't remember much/any of the actual gameplay/story of Psychonauts. I have to say though if you like funny stories and turn based combat RPGs (old school Final Fantasy style) then Costume Quest is a must get!

Hell no, it's... fine but not better than that ;). It's like RPG for kids. I completed it in 14 hours getting all of the achievements (not that hard). Usually I play slowly plus with a lot of alt-tabbing so I guess 11 hours for average to complete. Characters don't even have voices and for me the game is indie-like (small funds, rather short). It's fun but nothing as close to Psychonauts (also not so annoying in any place like Meat Circus, haha), that game was waaay more complex.

Did you beat the Grubbins on Ice DLC? :3

Yes, I couldn't get all of the achievements without it :). If I remember correctly without DLC I spent 9 hours to complete main game.

Some may end up in the stream ;)

I buy games I think are awesome and want others to play while they are cheaper so I can get multiples. It is normally whatever I feel like giving away that day. IE: Just put up a giveaway for Darksiders that I purchased weeks ago for one of my groups. I currently have 14 games that I have to giveaway (not including the bundles).

Is Costume Quest worth buying?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's enjoyable but not that long (I got 100% in the story in less than 6 hours). However it also includes free DLC. I haven't played it yet but apparently it's about the same length as the game.
If you have access to a 360/PS3 then you could try the demo.

Yeah, most of them don't collect online sales taxes. KS, KY, ND, NY, WA do already and TX and CA will start soon. Think that should be all of the ones to avoid.

Haven't played stacking, but I do have costume quest and Psychonauts. The former is a casual, cutesy RPG with not a whole lot of depth, but it's different enough to be enjoyable. The latter was a bit of a love and hate affair for me. On the one hand, it's genuinely creative with a wonderfully unique premise. The characters are funny, and the story is enjoyable in a nostalgic kids tv show kind of way.

But on the other hand... good lord the gameplay is woefully inadequate. It's tolerable at its best and ungodly annoying at its worst. Precision platforming is painful when controls aren't very precise, and psi card grinding between missions is an endurance test that quickly devolves into torture. Also, sure, the levels LOOK brilliant, but once they wear out their unique gimmick, they start to become really, really grating. As 'hilarious' a certain conspiracy was, half a dozen fetch quests with HOURS of backtracking WAS NOT.

At 2$ it's an absolute steal though. It's one of those games everybody SHOULD at least experience, if only to play a game that feels wholly different from everything else. As good as it's story is though, it'll never hold a candle to Tim Schafer's magnus opus, Grim Fandango.

Anyone had any problems with using a US billing address with a non-US card? I'm worried about legal issues that might arise. Won't my order be cancelled/key be revoked/account suspended for this? Just wanna be on the safe side.

Theoretically they can put your account on hold. It happened to me a month ago. Here is what I got from Amazon.
Instead of faxing anything I chosen their customer service chat, I gave some basic information and after ~24h my account was unblocked.

I see, thanks for the info. What information did you provide them with? As the "Address on file with the card issuer" would be a non-US one.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Just some basics like my name, US (:D) address and phone number to my debit card issuer. I think thats all.

1 decade ago
Permalink

When processing the order via your credit card they do also get the information if the billing address you put into Amazons system matches the address stored with your credit card company. So two things can happen: your credit card company might contact you because of possible fraud to check if you placed that order (happened to me with one of my cards after the first purchase at Amazon.com) or Amazon might contact you because of possible fraud (seems to happen in rare cases like with gora's account), but for that happening there probably would have to be more issues than the mismatching address flag. Long story short: in the usual case there shouldn't arise any problems, and if there are some they can quite easily be solved.
