C.V is the amount of steam games you donate, based on the price of the game. if the game costs $10 you will recive 10 of CV (Visit the FAQ for more information :P)

If you look at my profile I have one of those groups in my favorites tab. the S.G group for Fancy dudes and dudettes. You can only enter if you have 100 or more CV, and with someone who'd vouch for you :)

There are a lot of them in steamgifts but in the most of them (not all of them) you have to donate within a ratio, as an example you win 1 game and you have to donate 1 game, or with a weekly/monthly giveaway

Not in all groups, but yes, there are some that ask you for that, there are other that sk you to be in the group, be active on the chat, and other things, search in the forum and you will see some recruitment threads for groups, in theres you will see what you need to enter that group.
As i say not all of them ask you for that things, you may be invited to some groups just because the admin is your friend or he likes you as an example

Giveaways for members of a steam group have fewer entries, but they generally expect group members to contribute giveaways of their own to stay in the group. Check in the forum for any groups that may be looking for members, and see what you would need to do in order to qualify for that group. Hint: a person who has made no giveaways and only wants to know how to get free stuff probably doesn't qualify. :)
CV-required giveaways have fewer entries, but you can only get CV by giving away games. This takes money. Instead of paying money for gambling like this, just buy a game for yourself when you want it.
If you want to know the best odds, look for puzzle/happy birthday/whatever giveaways in the forum. Since most people are too lazy to check the forum, you have fewer entries in these giveaways.

Also, believe it or not but contributing actually does what you are trying to achieve (the bigger CV is required to enter giveaway the better chances of winning because you know, less people entering and all). Giving fev bundle games (2 or 3) alone can give you up to 30$ CV (and 30CV for 1$ is a steal so you should take the deal before it's gone)

If you keep entering giveaways you should win within the month. im about to have 2:1 ratio for won games per month. so just be patient and this is an ONLINE forum and its expected that there will be light friendly trolling and spam you don't have to be rude, you always have the option to ignore or use a witty comeback

If you see someone having some legit arguments in what they write and decide it's their goal to angry you then you must be a really sad person. Meaning that it took the other guy an average of 757 entries per win.
You currently have 207 entries so it's not particularly unusual to have 0 wins at this point. If you entered another 550 giveaways to bring you up to 757 entries then maybe you'll win one too although that's far from guaranteed. As you correctly said the number of entrants in a giveaway affects your chances as well.

Actually i find that if you don't believe you will win more. Every time i was expecting and believing i could win something, i didn't, though i often won stuff when i never expected to win anything and most of the time even forgot i entered those giveaways.
In summary: don't believe, but still enter giveaways and you will win, if you aren't winning, you believe too much
