The kind people at Nemesys Games (Fortix, Fortix 2, Ignite) agreed to answer some questions about Fortix and their games. Here they are:

beep- How many people worked on making Fortix?
Szabolcs Jozsa- We had two programmers and one graphic artist working on the team at the time.

beep- Developing a $1 game is a risky move. Of course that more people will buy it, but if nine people buy Fortix and only one person buys Fortix two (at full price), you'll be getting more money from the guy that bought Fortix 2. So the question is, which one has been more profitable?
Szab- By far Fortix 1 is the more profitable one, but we haven’t dropped the price on Fortix 2 yet. We had very good experience with the $1 price so we will do it we are just waiting for the right time.

beep- One of the sites I usually visit is called Steam Gifts. I don't know if you've heard of it, but the main purpose of the site is making raffles for Steam games. People can create those raffles (or giveaways, as they're called) or get a chance to win games. Fortix is really famous in that site: it has already been gifted 1,548 times, and the top 2 players on the leaderboards are from SG. This is not a question, I just wanted to point how famous it became there, just for being so cheap.
Zach Zebrowski and Szab- We have heard about it and makes us very happy that people play and gift our game. We hope it continues in the future as well!

beep- Are there plans of releasing Fortix 3?
Zach and Szab- We have other games planned for the near future, but there is an online version of Fortix 2 coming out soon with multiplayer!

beep- What games have served of inspiration for Fortix?
Zach and Szab- The arcade classic Qix was the main inspiration for the game.

beep- Are there plans of getting Airport Control Simulator to Steam? The game is already finished, and you could try submitting it to Steam Greenlight.
Szab- We have good relationship with Steam and while I do like ACS I’m not sure if it is a good fit. We would have to touch up the game to go through the Greenlight with success and we devote our attention elsewhere at this moment.

beep- How long did it take to develop Fortix?
Szab- Fortix 1 was 3-4 months. Fortix 2 was around 9 months.

beep- I think that's all that I wanted to know, thanks for the interview!
Szab- Thank you for being a loyal fan to us. Sign up on our Facebook page to get informed about new things coming.

That's all, hope you enyojed it :]

You don't buy Fortix for yourself, you buy Fortix to give away.

They actually mentioned SG themselves back in the day I think on their Facebook, during my and SuperFluffyKitty's supremacy war over Fortiana. She made some giveaways of Fortix 2 to celebrate ripping out the #1 spot on global highscores from my hands, though I beat her then and got beaten again (we had a few rounds xD). So yeah they were aware of SteamGifts for a while now.

Didn't notice the same guys are responsible for Ignite... you should have asked them are they going to do anything with the shitty connection in multiplayer, we're trying to run a tournament in that game in Giveaway of the Dead right now, and 'trying' is the best word, most of the time you can' connect to each other.
