Escape Goat dev here. Just to clarify, I'm doing my best to get keys to everyone who bought the game, regardless of where they bought it. Desura and Humble Store make this easy. If you bought the game on Humble, you should have received an email with a link to claim your key. If you bought the game on Desura/Indie Royale, you can claim a key by going to www.desura.com/collection. Note that right now, the game is in beta and still has some bugs to work out, but the key you get will be good for the full game as well.

I bought the game in the Indie Royale and when I go to Desura/Collection to get the Steam key there's a message saying "You need to get keys from Indie Royale where this game was purchased.".

I went there, to my June Bug Bundle profile and there is no Steam key for Escape Goat.

No, I've only handled this for Desura and Humble Store so far. Every marketplace is different so I'm doing my best to provide keys. I will see if IR can provide Steam keys, in the meantime, grab a Desura key from IR and redeem it, then redeem a Steam key from Desura. Or a more direct solution might appear in coming days or weeks... I appreciate your patience with this!

I did that. That's why Desura tells me to get the Steam key from IR. If you activate games from IR on Desura it always says "The (...) bundle has been activated" and they know it's from IR. That's why they say they won't provide keys and that IR has to do that. You should contact IR if you're the developer of EG and see what they have to say. In the past they always provided Steam keys for games which got greenlit or appeared on Steam sometime later. But I believe that developers have to contact them first in order to do that. I might be wrong though.

Funny how trying to redeem it from the browser tells you to get the key from your bundle page, but going through the client just works. Since IR is run by Desura, the key you get from your bundle page might be the same as the one Desura gave you so be careful. (Make sure they are different before trying to make a giveaway or something.)

The Cognition devs said they were sending Steam keys to every bundle they featured in. So unless they don't keep track of that they should've send some to that bundle too.
Best to ask the devs yourself though because my answer is not official.

About Cognition ... I had keys for Episode 1 and Episode 2, and I redeemed both. My account details for "licenses + subscriptions" lists both. However, when I look for the game on Steam, I just see "Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller", which it says I own, but there are no specific episodes here. And this seems to be the only item in Steam for Cognition. It does say that you can buy "Season One" and get "all four episodes". So, do I only have episodes 1-2 like the keys would indicate, or do I have episodes 1-4 since Steam's saying I already own this game? I'm slightly confused. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

You'll only have the first 2 episodes. For some reason they can't sell them separately. To compensate for that, the devs give a permanent 25% discount (per episode owned) off of the Season Pass.
Since you own 2 episodes, you'll get a permanent 50% discount off the Season Pass :)

Thanks for the info. The DLC info for Cognition in the Steam client says episode 1 and episode 2, so I guess the keys are more accurate here. It does look like there's a fixed discount now though, because I see -50% on the price without any indication of an end date. I'm not in any particular rush to get episodes 3 and 4 since I haven't played 1 or 2 yet, but it's good to know that I can get them without having to pay for the two episodes I already got via keys from other purchases. And maybe I'll be able to pick them up in future bundles. ;)

Desura ran out of keys, so I posted another 100. They seem to be going pretty fast now, so word has spread. The game is still in beta so I can't give out the thousands of keys it'll need just yet--but don't worry, you'll get your key eventually.
Waiting to hear back about Greenlight Bundle and Indie Gala.
I expect the key rollout to take another week or two as I get enough keys and can distribute them to all the marketplaces and bundles that have sold Escape Goat for the past year and a half.

This should be linked to any dev/publisher who tries to weasel his way out of providing Steam keys. Specifically this part:

Speculations have been made that it might be due to the fact that the game has been sold by retailers and that some of those could be difficult to provide Steam keys to purchasers.
Thus not providing any would be fairer (and way more convenient).

Do you mean they might not provide keys? I think that's generally the case. From what I can remember, Steam keys usually come when bundled Greenlight titles are approved for official Steam release, but aren't guaranteed because I think it's up to the developers. Of course, if they don't give Steam keys, people are going to be pretty upset, so they usually do, i think. But I don't buy many Greenlight titles in bundles, so I could be wrong.

So, I have to apologize to everyone for not being active in this thread anymore. I kept postponing because I was busy, and the games' list was growing and growing, as the comments in this thread. When the whole thing started, more than an year ago games were not greenlit so frequently.
I tought I could catch up, my original idea was to make a v2.0 of this thread.
This community is really great and I was happy to do something for it, but now I must face that I started too many projects in my life and I just can't keep this one going for now.
I think that the best thing is to pass this thread to someone else, like a group of people who can update a google doc or something.
Thanks to all of you that made this thing possible, I couldn't have done it without you; to be honest, you did most of the work, I simply sorted all the infos you gave me.
I'm really sorry for this, but my life is kind of a mess already, and I'm sure someone else can do a better job at this than myself.
Hi all, many of us, like me, probably bought many bundles in which some games were not available on Steam at the time, but they were on Greenlight and so we bought them pre-emptively just to get a 'free' Steam key later.
Recently a lot of Greenlight games came out on Steam, so my question is: which games are you waiting to get a key for?
Since I've been suggested to make a kind of database, I ask to help me to build it saying which games you got where.
