Buy it at amazon.com, at least you are 100% sure that its a working, completely legal key and will never get revoked.

A friend once gave me a bad CD key (He never mentioned that it was exploited) and I chose to report it to Valve, ask for the game to be removed from my account.... but I didn't get in trouble. It was removed and they told me that the key wasn't part of the bundle it should've been in. (It was the Hitman Sniper Challenge.)

I would think this only happens with those shady "CDKEYS.com sites. If it's from Amazon.com I wouldn't worry you can also send them the emails from Amazon.com

lol ...
i buy keys from "these shady cdkey.com sites" all the time never a problem they are always legit keys you gotta know the difference from a fake to a real site
if you cant do that unplug your modem and dont go on the internet there are people out there asking if this site itself is legit so this site to them is a "shady site"

I haven't actually read the exact lines from Valve, but I hear that redeeming certain CD Keys can result in your Steam account being suspended for violating Steam's ToS. The issue of course, is that when purchasing from an unauthorized retailer, you never really know where these keys actually come from.
So, pretty much what I'm asking is: Has anyone here has actually gotten in trouble for something like that?
Also, I was wondering if anyone here has purchased from more obscure key retailers like CDKeyDeals. I'm hoping to buy Sleeping Dogs from them, but so far I mainly see very little feedback from buyers, a sketchy "instant" delivery service, and reviewers that register on the same day of posting a review and never logging in again.
If not, I suppose I'll go with Amazon's $22 price. (OCTOFUN1)
Also, I know there have been threads like this in the past, however I haven't seen any threads with more in-depth discussion on this sort of thing with the exception of CDKeyDeals' only steamgifts giveaway.
In case your jimmies did get rustled, though, take Fortix with you on your way out.
