Day Z > War Z, but I like originals. Day Z was really fun. I didn't play War Z yet, but was watching some streams and just looks basically like a ripoff. Which is whatever, but I didn't see any compelling reason to play it over Day Z. I will wait for the Day Z standalone, but thats me.

The War Z is in ALPHA, Youre comparing an alpha release with a pretty much fully-released mod.
The War Z will be an actual game when its done, While DayZ will still be that "Mod" type of game. A bit bugged, Bad-ish animations, FPS Lag (More than playing the normal, optimized game) & All those problems that come with MP mods :P

Don't go saying things before making sure you're telling the truth. Go check the facts. The two of them are in Alpha and DayZ will NOT be an almost fully-released mod. Actually, DayZ is still a mod with no standalone yet, while The War Z is the one which already is THE standalone. So in reality the one who should be more advanced is The War Z. So yes, you're wrong.
IMHO, they're making different approaches. DayZ is the hardcore one, needing to have the most realistic approach, just as it's original game, ArmA2. The War Z is more arcadeish. Neither is bad, if you ignore the huge possibility of The War Z being an rip-off. They're just both alpha games, really, each one still needing a lot of work to be called a game and not an experience.

In DayZmod's Current state its easily 100x better then The WarZ that even in alpha is already full of hackers and the no decent anti-cheat means anyone who has a program like cheat engine is able to be OP. also WarZ alpha is much newer then Arma 2 so of course the animations are going to be better and theres less FPS lag in it then there is on WarZ. And Offically DayZ will never be a Fully Released Mod due to the fact it shall be standalone. If you have played DayZ before you would know that its like an Alpha of a game. And Playing WarZ is like playing a Zombie game with no challenge like Dead Island with godmode.

I don't remember the exact version, but it was maybe about late August when I last tried it. I did join servers near me (US), but also some Euro servers as I was trying to play with a friend from the UK. We were never able to get in a server that was good for both of us. ARMA II in general doesn't run very well on my computer, but Day-Z was decidedly worse frame rate and lag. I hope the standalone will be better optimized for those who want to play with their international friends or who don't have top-notch gaming PCs.

It will be for sure. At least zombies. As I read, zombie model will have two actions see and follow (attack) or not see. Now it have all soldiers actions like reloading, tactics etc. It will end in much more zombies (which I personally hope for) or better performance.

well i dont have a "top-notch gaming PC" but i easily run this game with over 300 FPS and im on a HP Dv7 laptop so if you have an avg desktop it should run this perfectly (this is going on the current avg spent of gaming rigs of 1.5k AUD should be cheaper in the UK ). and i play DayZ with my friends in Uk America and norway

I play on a laptop - Dell XPS 15. It runs most games fine, but struggled with DayZ (also Trine 2). It also took us a long time to find a server we could both get into. And when I did get into one, my fps was quite bad even on the lowest graphics settings. Believe me I wish it did run better on my computer, cos I really wanted to play it with people.

I say that DayZ if F*****G AWESOME! I totaly love it! Sometimes when you play it you feel like it's more than a game (sounds nerd but that's the game!). It's just bloddy brilliant. Love the way of survival, like a bad ass survival, no forgivness. First game that pushed you so hard that you can loose all your eq that you scattered for like moths and you can loose it becouse of one single mistake. I love this game and the best thing that it's alpha, so like all the time updates, that will keep the game live for years. There should be more and more and more added!
And about WarZ, screw them. Shitty rip off with candy graphic. They trying to be a zombie survival with candies all around.

I'm going to buy Day Z. I like this mod, but actually in Arma 2 I like more some other mods (Evolution Red, Wasteland).
War Z looks ok., but microtransations is something that kills such game for me (same as WoT - Pay to Win). So for sure I won't invest any money in that game.

I loved DayZ for Arma 2 ! Played it a lot, but i don't have time to play it these days. I need to update it and see the changes. I don't like WarZ, it's not as scary as DayZ for some reason. Also i just hope that in DayZ you can enter every house or atleast most houses. It just breaks my immersion when i can't enter 80% of the houses XD. I hope the stand alone will run fine on my laptop ^_^ !

Yes i've seen them and they look awesome, but what i was trying to say is that in the Arma 2 DayZ and in WarZ there are a LOT of houses that you just can't go in to, they are there just for decoration and that really breaks my immersion in the game. Also i sure as hell hope they make the night in the Stand Alone game more reallistic and not just pitch black O_O.

WarZ is basically their other game (War Inc) with zombies. They simply "upgraded" it with some stuff, put a different name on it and sell it as some new groundbreaking game. Many models and textures are from War Inc actually. link

I laughed so hard when i read that the developers of WarZ have been working on the game for years and that's not a DayZ copy XD. I personaly don't mind people taking other people's ideas and making them better, but WarZ is not making anything better and it's obviously a bad copy. I can't wait to see when people start complaining about WarZ not being updated or how there are too many hackers XD.

I've played both and I far prefer DayZ over WarZ.
They both have many hackers, though this should hopefully be fixed in DayZ standalone. WarInc hacks have been out for ages and they don't care to fix it so I don't see it getting fixed in WarZ.
Weapons are easy to find in WarZ, ammo is not. You CAN buy ammo.
WarZ developers are giant liars. they keep saying they started development before dayz, but this is a lie, it didn't start until June of this year, well after the DayZ fad hit.

At first it's probably not going to be on steam, becouse they are going for the Minecraft type of realease (aka Alpha -> Beta -> Final Release, if you buy the game in Alpha it's discounted for like 50% or something like that (not 100% sure on how much the discount is)). Also about the name of WarZ, it's obvious they took the Z from DayZ and the War from their other game WarInc (WarZ is based on the WarInc engine). They are really unoriginal... XD

Yeah i'm going to buy it in Alpha too. And i'm sure DayZ will be on steam, either by Green Light or by Bohemia Interactive games being on steam already. But my guess is that DayZ will go on steam when it's actually released, the Alpha and Beta probably wont be on steam.

If you really want to play Arma II with zombies, you can do it even with free version of it. There are some maps with zombies for free version of Arma. I know that it's not exactly the same, so use this demo version only to feel the gameplay, original game is much more complex. At least you can also see DayZ on youtube. My friend played it for about half a year and he had so many stories from this game to tell that it's definitely a must-buy for me as standalone version. AFAIK it will be distributed like Minecraft, with raising price, and devs say it will be cheap. Save your money for it instead of buying actual game now. New version should be out in December.

Did you ever think about what DayZ did to everything ARMA? Lol. I think the ONLY things DayZ even did were to add zombies and the looting system. Don't get me wrong, I loved DayZ for awhile, but from what I've played in WarZ it's a much more solid game.
Plus I haven't yet encountered ONE game-breaking bug... and it's an Alpha. :P

I'm just saying... you know that DayZ will go the Minecraft path (aka they will release it at alpha with like 50% discount and you will get in to the alpha, beta and the game itself when it releases). But anyway, yeah that's really stupid of the WarZ devs. I don't expect the game to last long. Right now everyone bought it becouse of the hype on zombie survivals that DayZ generated. When DayZ releases it's alpha and people see how much better it is and how much better the support for it is, everyone will leave WarZ and it will either go F2P or shut down completely.

at first i thought WarZ would be good so i got it but when i noticed how bad it was i demanded a refund (since im in australia they have to by law ) and they got extremely rude about the reason that i asked for help tons of times and every single forum post and message was ignored or deleted.

I didn't really have any experience with DayZ personally until I tried out the mod for GTA San Andreas. My laptop isn't quite capable of running the game at a decent frame rate, and with standalone version comming out, I didn't really see the need to buy Arma II:CO for it.
I did watch some gameplay videos on youtube, mostly commentaries, they are lots of fun to watch, but most of my experience came from that GTA server, from what I saw about the arma 2 mod in the video, the GTA one is quite similar, except the zombies are total idiots in it and weapons seem easier to find.
As for the standalone, I don't think there is much information about it yet, don't think there are any screenshots either. Just wait and see. All I know is, it's going to be built on the ArmA 3 engine, so the graphics will be awesome and every single thing will be extremely full of detail.

I've stopped playing GTA DayZ, mostly because the survival time is extremely short, the map is too small for those 102 people, who are constantly there. Majority of those playing it would be better off playing an FPS, all they do is shoot people, even if they don't have any gear on them. I was killed about 5 times the other day just trying to find my friend, gearless...

Well, firstly they shouldn't be so damn dumb, if you run for a while, then crouch, they'll just go where you ran 2 seconds ago, although they can "see" you. I agree that ammo should be harder to find, but also I think the damage of sniper rifles is too overpowered, there were times when I was killed by 1 bullet extremely far away.

But it isn't pay2win, lol. Also, in my opinion WarZ is more fun than DayZ ever was. Excluding the first ~2 times I played it, back when it was new and I didn't realize it was more or less a waste of time. WarZ Is very similar to DayZ in a lot of regards, but it runs better, feels better when playing,and has a certain charm to it.
If you wanna talk about a copy, let's talk DayZ. Do you know how little of a Mod it actually is? x3

well technicly its a copy but then WarZ is also due to most ideas have already been had people say an idea is theirs but they get the idea from games/movies/books etc they experience so then almost everything around today is a copy. Also so what if DayZ is small in size ITS A MOD NOT A STANDALONE GAME. Also if you download the DayZ maps for a server they are about 15gig each so the game in general isnt small just the client is. and this is cause most gamers dont want to download a game that is over 90gig ish. Also There is Nothing Wrong about Ingame Stores They are a way to make the game F2P but still have good servers.

Yes WarZ might be running better, but that's becouse it's a standalone game made by a whole team. DayZ is a mod for a very demanding game that's made by one man. You can talk what runs better when the DayZ stand alone game is realeased. And i don't really get what you are saying with "how little of a mod it actually is?" . If you want to tell us that DayZ is just a skin of Arma 2 with zombies, then you are terribly wrong and you haven't even touched the campaing of Arma 2. Also if you want to talk about "how little of a mod it actually is" go look up WarInc and then look up at WarZ, you will find a LOT of similar things and that's becouse WarZ is actually just a reskined WarInc with zombies. Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 Screen 4 You are defending a terribly made copy of a mod. And the devs of that copy offer little support and help for their "game". They are not copying it. The mod for GTA is called DayZ and not a bad rename like WarZ :)
You have a point there, but I like my options open, that's like calling FPS games all the same, and they copy each other and so on.
If it weren't for GTA DayZ mod I couldn't experience the DayZ spirit because I do not own OA for ARMA II.

yeah i played, as most multiplayher games, it gets fun when playing with your people, otherwise eventually it gets boring if you are gonna solo all the time,better get in a group or join with surviviors, in the past this was easier, now is difficult as it's more like a deathmatch.
it was worth before when it was cheaper, not now as it's not that cheap and standalone is coming.
i haven't made up my mind about warz yet, haven't looked at it enough. I watched a loot of dayz gameplay before getting it.
gta yeah played it too, it's fun, but haven't playued it that much yet, just found out about it about a week ago.
