I have been using PeppermintOS for a good while now. I tend to go for the more minimalistic distributions.
As for linux gaming, I was expecting a lot more announcements regarding bigger games (past and future) coming to our platform. Where are they? It is great to see the major engines come on board. Very excited to see what the future brings!

Crunchbang has been mindblowing for me. I now use tint2, openbox and conky on most linuxes i use, currently ubuntu because i needed something out of the box at some point and didn't bother changing since.

I've checked my other prepared gifts against your massive library, and, well… You might want to revisit this thread again a bit later on. Of course, I am being entirely optimistic here, because ports for these particular titles are still being worked on (at least we'd like to think so).

I'm perfectly fine with Linux, my dad uses it almost all the time.
However, I myself use Windows since it's the most Supported Operating system (at least as far as games go), and it's what I'm familliar with.

Only bad thing i've found so far is wine wrapper games. I have PlayOnLinux configured for Windows games, but these wrapper things want to run only on my system default wine which is configured for different things. When do developers learn that wine wrapper doesn't mean Linux support :D

Could be the case. I couldn't run it using steam for linux when it was first released. Had to run it through wine to get the card drops.

usually with wine it's nothing to do with game's graphics. If the game isn't created for Linux, it's 50/50 chance of running it, exactly as it is with running any other Windows game through wine :)

Having not yet seen TB's review, I decided to check the game out myself.
Mixed feelings about this one, but I do admit having fun at some points. Different game modes across levels are a nice touch, but the controls on 'freerunning' sections feel weird.

I just found some old keys recently (I really should keep better track of them), but the only one on Linux is DEFCON Soundtrack. Well, at least it's something.

I originally thought about making a group giveaway for Metro:LL or something, but would have chosen one of the existing non-steamgifts-specific linux-related groups for that. Ended up being too lazy to contact said groups to get some attention, and decided to go with a simple CV approach.
Nice idea, actually, to have a dedicated steamgroup. I'm just not really into that kind of things.

Well, technically, there is also an In-Home Streaming option to bring the gaming experience from another system "to the living room", but this, indeed, requires other systems set up on other machines, and is a rather peculiar feature.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive feedback and giveaways my December post has collected, and used it as the inspiration source for the current one. There will be several batches from me, and the main focus will be games with GNU/Linux support, but this time I will also include titles with somewhat mild ETA on a port (featuring links to various sources where any commitments were shown).
