Well. The first attempt at distribution didn't go well, and it's clear that the devs don't know how to/don't want to set up a better key distribution system with the information they have that can possibly verify votes, so maybe the email thing is just because of technical limitations and to appease the angry voter mob quickly.

So I found the thread on reddit where the link was leaked, and everyone there that explained how it was supposed to be only for the greenlight voters were downvoted. I guess most people on /r/GameDeals don't care about morals.

It's not about morals, it's about devs laziness. They deserved something this to happen. They also made a group before for 3 days as a requirement to get the keys, but this requirement wasn't since the beginning and they didn't warned about this, so they acted like assess hopping less ppl who voted will get their game.

Dev may be lazy, but you are still victim blaming. It clearly wasn't meant to be distributed outside of the group. Just because the dev was lazy doesn't give the right for unauthorized people to claim keys.
In college, I always kept my dorm room open. That doesn't give someone the right to come in and take my laptop.

This is how internet works, if they gonna believe in kindness of thousands of ppl, so they gonna suffer the consequences.
Also they still can ignite the flames of hate, because now of this issue more ppl is informed, and who voted for their game on Greenlight remembered about that and came to see the devs made a group as a requirement to get those keys and opened it for less than 3 days without proper announcement, while there wasn't this requirement when ppl voted there was just vote for our game and probably comment, so if they do something wrong now, ppl gonna come and hate them for not giving keys to the voters as they promised, but nothing bad if the continue doing what they promised.

It works in some communities. Amazon shared google doc filled with keys to CAG and NeoGaf, but communities with thousands of people. There was no leak and everything went smoothly.

If thousands of others had the chance to take your laptop with the click of a button and stay (relatively) anonymous, it would have been gone in no time.
You can't really compare RL with internet behavior.
I'm not saying that the devs deserved what happend, I'm just saying your RL example doesn't fit :P

In response to your edits: You are still victim blaming. If someone does something dumb, they should prepare for something to happen, but they do not "deserve" it. I don't put DRM on my game, so I deserve thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people pirating it? I don't think it works like that.

That's an excellence question. I just made sure Psygineer (The one that shows in the tabs) was in the picture this time rather than just the bottom half of the letters. Hoping that will work. Nothing from it yet, but it's only been like 10 minutes. Hopefully they won't get confused by seeing a second email from me and send two or delete both assuming I am up to something. Either way, here is hoping!

After 14 hours and no answer, considering most people were answered within either minutes or a couple of hours, I sent another email with more detailed screenshots were my username can be seen as well as a shot of my commenting on the original thread.
