Is it worth eating uncooked food?
No, it's not worth playing early-access game.

Salmon is much better raw.

(Just make sure to freeze it first!)

in context that freezing(and any additional preparation) could probably be interpreted as an act of cooking.

I have it, it's sadly just ok. I really wanted to love this game, but there are just so many better survival crafters out there.

Honestly the only good early access game out there right now is Lichdom Battlemage. It's freaking amazing and the dev team have been putting out updates and they aren't going to be slowing down. I'd pick that one up instead. Fantastic game.

I didn't like Starbound much. I definitely had way more fun with Terraria. Space Engineers is where it's at with Early Access games.

no early access game that doesn't already have a level of content you'd be satisfied with if it stopped there
(because otherwise its a gamble and a hope not a product you're buying)

I own it, but my computer doesn't handle it well so I've only played a few minutes so far (thankfully I won it on twitch and didn't pay for it).. from what I've played, the graphics looked awesome. I don't know anything about the gameplay, but I've heard it can be extremely addicting. Great reviews too. With that being said, I'd still wait until it's out of early access.. you never know, it could turn into another Rust situation.

No, just like any other early-access game.

Probably because he thinks Early Access aren't worth it ;)

yes, maybe. and he has the right to think what he wants. but in my opinion it's just not true that no early access game is worth it. there are some early access games out there, which work better than many release games. ;)

refine it to "no early access game that doesn't already have a level of content you'd be satisfied with(at that price) if it were suddenly abandoned" and just wait until the game hits that point?

Looks great, let's wait for at least 66% off.

Another way to look at it: Do you want to support the completion of the game?

Buying it helps the devs' funding now, and you get a little something to play for the time being. Or just wait for the finish product (even if you bought it...)

thats a stupid way to look at it, thats the way you end up paying $60(some early access are ridiculously at a markup rather than discount) for something that goes dead after a few updates

Nah, it's buggy and runs like a horse's a**. I also think the devs are promising too many things (see Godus). I don't see how is it going to be possible to deliver the features they have announced from their budget...
