Because you made this thread.
cg implemented a system that pre-empts whether a user will make posts like this in their future and automatically turns off wins for them should it detect a future thread. All very clever.
I guess Im making a thread like this in the future, would explain a lot :D

pre-emptively flames in anticipation of said thread
I entered over 2k giveaways before I won anything. Don't bitch about 130
+1 seriously 130 is nothing.
Because you need over9000 entries. Then your counter will reset, and you will be able to win games.

why should you..you dont say thanks, you dont participate in the community and you have obviously no clue about statistics
NOOO,STOP HIM. HE IS DESTROYING THE UNIVERSE
+8999 :) well, now it's already on oo so no effect...
I also don't feel like spamming nonsense thanks on the givaway pages.
I rather thank the guy on steam when I'm handled the game. And thank a lot! :)
Yeah saying thanks is not required.
And when I'm out and about entering giveaways through the android app it would be to much of a hassle to say thanks on every giveaway.
this is not a general discussion about saying thanks, but well,if you want to have it. Yes its not required (rules) but its a matter of manners. Tigon3rd: Agreed, same here. Still I try to get my comments together if the creator wishes to do so or on private/group giveaways. Numanair: Looking at your profile and reading this comment: Pls dont talk to me anymore, you think you deserve those games cuz you won the raffle? Kiranecro: Yeah thats a must IMO. If someone does not say thanks after he gets the game it's really one for my personal blacklist (yeah I know, you gotta get approval from support...so what,I have ways to keep those ppl out without needing approval to have a blacklist).
Don't be jerks, this is a private site with private giveaways, show some respect for contributors. No one here "deserves" anything, everyone winning something should be grateful and happy.
First world problems. Here, let me get my violin and play a sad song to go with you very sad story.
I never say thanks. I feel stupid posting the same thing as everyone else. And if I made a giveaway I wouldn't want to have to swim through pages of "thanks" to see if anyone said anything worthwhile.
That doesn't mean anything, you can enter in any of those WITHOUT saying thanks and you will have the same chance as the user saying thanks
Reference : Important: All gifts should be Steam redeemable CD keys or Steam gifts only. Winners will be automatically generated at random by SteamGifts to ensure all entries have an equal chance of being selected. The e-mail addresses of the winners will be viewable on the Manage Your Giveaways page, where you'll also be able to track user feedback. If you have any questions, take a second to post on the forum. Thanks.
(Create Giveaway Pages)
Thank you for teaching me stuff about SG,"random guy who joined two days ago". I know how to play the game here,it was just a "you think you deserve something? no!"
you...please go die.
Holy hell. Go learn statistics.
xD i won on my first try. Didn't realise how lucky it was :P
You surely were. I won around my 850th, and I'm still not in the "unlucky" category.
Stop it with these threads already =P( I shouldn't be the one talking but still)
What's that, some stereotypical mexican fake troll or?
Learn statistics, you have been on for 3 weeks. Calm the hell down.
well - you have to enter right giveaways ;) I'm here not full 5 weeks and won 10 already xD
Groups you mean of course.
He still won one that's not group/private/developer giveaway.
Yes, I see that, he made it sound like it was easy to win 10 in a couple weeks though, thats all.
And I entered 2852 giveaways and won just 4 gifts, don't complain, it's free
+4, geometric expansion! (sorry bored)
it's still good rate.
Hell, 703 already? And binaries too!
You poor bastard.
Do you even premium?
Do you even rule 1 & 2? :&
He's the boss, i think he has his own reason to try to break our rule :P
You've given away nothing and only ever appeared on the forums to post whiny, self-pitiful threads.
Do something worthwhile instead of just greedily leeching, and brush up on your understanding of basic statistics, then maybe you'll attract some good karma.
WOAA 130 of them!
Because karma system deemed you worthless?
I actually like this answer.
Shut the fuck up kid! I know a friend of mine who has entered over 3,000 giveaways and hasn't won anything! He's also really nice and talks on forums and has made 30 giveaways :P. If you ever win a giveaway of mine I will re roll because you made this thread. Bloody bastards these days ;(
Who is he? Do we have more people with 3k entries and no wins?
My entry to win ratio is approx. 2000:1. I'm not complaining; I got stuff that I didn't have before, and it cost me nothing. I gave thanks to my benefactors.
Grow up and stop whining.
hot damn! 476:1 ratio, time to start my jig.
I've bought hundreds of lottery tickets, why aren't I a millionaire yet? :(
Now time to go get myself a cup of homemade coffee and to enjoy this thread :)
God loves every single one of his children equally. Except you. He doesn't like you at all.
Sir, you made my day.
People who make such threads should be suspended for at least a week.
Grab your pitchfork and a torch and we'll burn the castle down!
People who make threads like this should be repeatedly kicked in the crotch until the probability of them ever having children is as as statistically likely as a female Mexican zombie who refuses to wear makeup getting successfully elected as president of the USA.
The zombie has my vote in the next four years. How bad could it be?
Certainly no worse than our current zombie!
Alright alright, I'll show myself out.
Damn it..... I just knew something was off about Biden.
i play LOTO / EURO MILLION and i never won , should i make a thread ??
"i'm not iron man but i can be ironic man"
i can only say this: TROLOLOLOLOLOLTROLOLOLOL :D
So sad :( :plays a sad song on the world's smallest violin:
Steamgifts is not about winning, it's about participating and having a good time.
Participating? Having a good time? What is this non-sense?!
I was just joking, calm down, lol
Steamgifts is not about winning. It's about whining.
Well in fact i am not winning too.I enterned 500 giveaways I have won only once and I gave two games.I hope I will give more games in future :)
Oh man I thought you had missed a 0 of the end.
I've been here about a year, entered about half a thousand giveaways, and haven't won anything. Move to the back of the line.
I was just about to say "But surely you jest, Jatan11t you sarcastic devil. You've won over a hundred giveaways."
Then I realised you're not him.
Damn people using the same avatars.
Actually the answer is really simple and there's no sense to be mean, there are actually 217633 members (not all are active but anyway...)participating in giveaways. Look at me, almost 3000 entries and 3 wins, you have to keep trying. Cheers up man!
Giveaways Entered - 2,473
Gifts Won - 2 (1 was beta key and is no longer available, so won 1)
so sad ;_;
Because you touch yourself at night.
Solution: touch yourself during the day.
Bonus points if you are at work/school during the day!
Took me over 1000 to get a win, and I've seen people with over 3000 entries without a win. And they at least did stuff like donate and comment.
You haven't won anything because you will never win anything if you keep complaining. That's the rule of steamgifts.
Because that is how random draws work? I've got 578 closed entries, with no wins. That's just the luck.
But if you want advice:
1) Look at the competition. The odds are going to be against you no matter what, but you've got a better chance to win a 200 person giveaway than you have to win a 6,000 person giveaway. This doesn't matter so much in a period where points are generated rapidly. But when things slow down, you only have a few points to spare, and there are five or six games that you want roughly equally, it is worth considering.
2) Make friends and join groups. Group giveaways have fewer entries. If you join a group, then at least be a decent group member. I figure most groups don't want a leech who there just to win free games, and they surely don't want a troublemaker. (I'm not horribly social, and I don't do much in the way of online multiplayer, so I don't really benefit from this approach. I'd rather a group get a new member who's actually going to play the games that the group likes, and will...well...be more social than me.)
3) Try the forum puzzles. Like groups, this is a way to get into giveaways that have fewer entries, and thus less competition. Forum puzzles are infrequent, and range from relatively easy to annoyingly infuriating. Respect the rules, though.
4) The more entries you enter, the more chances you have to win. This is more important in point scarce times, but if the entrants are equal, you've got a better chance of getting at least one win if you enter 4 different 10 point giveaway than you have if you enter a single 40 point giveaway.
5) You can try contributing. Like groups and forum puzzles, contribution only giveaways have a smaller pool of people entering them. Just don't contribute $100 worth of games and then complain that you still aren't winning. The system is still luck, and spending money solely to find better odds to win is just... well, I'd probably violate some kind of forum posting rule if I said what it was.
*1) This is an anti-point. It won't help you win, and likely will reduce your chance of winning, but it is important. Don't get so caught up in the idea of winning that you start entering giveaways that you don't even care about. You don't really gain anything if you win a game that you aren't even going to play. You just take away someone else's chance to get it.
*2) Another anti-point. Don't overthink it. The odds are against you. You can break out a spreadsheet and min-max your point use and entries, but the gain isn't going to be worth the effort. If you really want a game, then take the long(er) shot risk. How much do you really want to play the slightly better chance to win a game that you only halfway care about versus the worse chance to win a game that you really want? I entered a Witcher 2 giveaway that ultimately had 8589 entries. I knew my chance to win was nearly zero. I've dropped out of giveaways that had a third of those entries. But, who knows. Maybe I'd be lucky
tl,dr version: because the op is dumb
Was hoping it was a sarcastic thread....
Same here, disapponted :(
I enter near 2450 giveaway until the first win! You must be more patient! :D
I've entered 131 and I WON something! :-P
I won something with approx 90. Which was very lucky.
it is very hard to get pass 2K entries without a win :p try more OP.
no it isnt... :D :D
Don't worry about winning or losing. it's a free website, you're not losing anything. :)
I'm just thankful some cool guys are giving away stuff for free. I think that's what really counts.
The site is not a magical keygen for every steam game. Ppl that give away stuff bought that (except those annoying exceptions of key exploits).
first world sg problems
677:0, beat that
look at mine 678:0
(legit, i saw your post, checked my entered, and it happened to be one more xD)
Same as with poster above. I can recommend this thread to you.
You are soon near 700, which is a nice number. I can recommend this thread to you.
no thx, i dont really like private groups with guidelines and rules
IM A FREE MAN ON THE INTERNET
That's the spirit lad! Now go and beat the odds. Freedom!
damn ok ive found my master in luck
Be patient dude! You'll win something eventually =p
