buy Dark Souls. then again, if you need to ask this question you might not be cut for Dark Souls.. maybe you should get the batman "game", it's more your hold-my-hand-not-much-thinking style

DARK SOULS

Dark Souls is deffo good at a deep combat system, has a lot of philosophical ideas, strong atmo, worth trying to survive over and over again.
Dunno that much about hte mbatman games they sure looked good when I saw a friend play it but at the end of the day you run thru em on rails.

Good Games i like both, for long game better Dark Souls, for like story Batman Arkham Origins.

I played Dark Souls on console and it was just absolutely amazing. Just make sure you have a gamepad though.

Arkham Origins is said to soon have "all-DLC release". Dark Souls soon will have full Steam Support.

In your case I would go with Dark Souls.

I would grab Arkham Origins, Dark Souls is too hard for me :p

Arkham games are more 3d Metroidvania, with challenging combat only on highest difficulties (where the combat prompts are removed and you actually need to watch your enemies).
Dark Souls is more action RPG with proper RPG elements, and always a strong challenge.

I would buy Dark Souls, but I rather wait a few months with it - waiting for Games for Windows Live to be removed :)

Buy Dark Souls, it's a lot of fun, especially if you get friends to play with you. Though, like everyone else says, GFWL is a little problem. You can the game just fine with it but it might take some extra work to get it working. Also has more replayability than Batman, since there are a lot of different weapons to use and different playstyles to try. Dark Souls has a nice story, but you have to search for the story, it won't be thrown at you. Or you can always go check VaatiVidya's Youtube channel to find out about the story.

Arkham Origins is a fun game too and mostly easier if you're not in for a challenge. (Dark Souls isn't really that hard once you get the hang of it. You just have to have the patience to die to a boss 5 times until you figure out a tactic to beat it.) Also, you could buy Batman now and Dark Souls later from the winter sales when GFWL is probably already removed.

I've played both, Dark Souls on Xbox 360 and Batman: Arkham Origins on PC. Origins is much better, longer and fun.
