It is, but don't forget about the restrictions. Even if there isn't any at the moment, they can mess around with their copy any time they want.

They won't, but if they can make you not able to play it and remove features such as Steam Family Sharing and stuff.

Could get a region lock on it. Currently it is only restricted purchase-wise, but it might get a retro-active activation and/or in the worst case run restriction. Even if not, perhaps the game is already designed in such a way as to only allow online play with others who own the same regional copy as you. That has nothing to do with Steam DB-related locks.
Anyway, check out steam trades. It's available on the Indonesian store for 33 dollars and some cents, and you get a ROW copy. People on ST are selling it for about 16/17 keys.

Don't pre-order games as Muffins says and yes I think it's gonna be available for purchase as a dlc. In my honest opinion that feature should be a basic feature not a Goddamn pre-order exclusive or even a dlc.
Also, have you made the plan yet?
Comment has been collapsed.
The plan is a plan to get rid of all plans for making such DLC pre-orders.
Comment has been collapsed.
Stay away; in what way exactly? Not buying the games at all or not the care about pre-order bonuses?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, pretty much. Companies that try to milk their customers with things like that won't be getting my money.
OP: If you want the option to play as a Zombie take a look at Contagion, though honestly I would wait for at least a 75% off sale as the game itself isn't nearly as good as was promised when it was in early access.
Comment has been collapsed.
Owned it since Early Access and never regretted it.

Umm, "digital deluxe edition" of _ ?

Hero Siege is a tiny indie game and multiplayer costs money to add in. They added it after the game was sold, why should it be free?

.. Then that's an enormously ignorant tweet off TB that shows he has no understanding at all of how a large-scale project is managed, and what the word "budget" means. They aren't trying to flog off copies of the game as soon as possible to be able to finish the game. The money you need to finish a game is provided by the budget your project is allotted by the publisher, not pre-order sales. If you go over-budget, either your budget is increased, or you dig into your own pockets temporarily, hoping on good sales figures to re-coup your own company's loss. The eagerness for pre-orders stems from investor pressure. Investors / publishers want to see a return-on-investment within <x> time frame, sooner if possible. They pressure the publisher to come up with a release date that's stuck in as soon as is possible, who then pressures the dev. to come up with a projected "gold" date - the date the game goes "gold", meaning that it is ready for release / sale / printing on DVDs.
This is what's wrong with the entire fucking games business, and what causes atrocities such as what happened with / to BF4. Games get released way too early, in an entirely unfinished state, with often game-breaking bugs and missing features, all to appease investors who have not a single clue about videogames, nor care about them whatsoever. All they care about is making a quick buck for doing no real work themselves (unless you call flying around the world to sit and talk to people an hour at a time, and signing some documents "work"), to make their money grow.
Devs. are pressured by publishers in to doing crap like what's happening here, cutting features out and shilling them as "bonuses" to incentivize pre-order sales, and give them something to market / hype the game with for further late pre-order sales, and further down the line extra sales when they bring out the cut features as DLC, along with a probable 10 - 20% sale on the base game. The publishers are legally bound by contract to deliver <x> amount of $$$ to their investors / board of directors by <x> date, and want to be rid of that pressure ASAP, hence the urge to manipulate consumers into buying off them by basically punishing consumers for not buying as early as possible.
The entire games market has become a toxic cesspit of company vs. consumer because of these fucking rich investor fiends being interested in nothing but their bottom dollar, and pushing early-as-possible deadlines that are at best unrealistic, and at worst cripplingly impossible to meet; but since they have not a clue of the intricacies of what they're investing in - games design - no one can explain to them why <x> game might need an extra 6 months to a year of dev. time, nor do they care. A date was set, it has to be met, there's a contract, end of story.
The disconnect between investors and what they're investing in is a problem you see in other industries as well - a problem that in almost all cases results in lower quality products / service for the eventual consumer, who is treated and viewed as an ignorant and demanding loudmouth - though the games industry is the worst case of it I've seen thus far.

It seems more like TB was referring to Early Access and more specifically Spacebase DF-9.

It is actually more than that. It is where Mirror's Edge + Dead Island meet.

OVERKILL is the most milking DLC company I ever saw...
Comment has been collapsed.
I have to agree with that, although I love PAYDAY 2. They surely have a lot of DLC-s, which is not neccessary to enjoy the game, but what about Tripwire? They have character and gun skin DLC-s, still they aren't considered as a milking company.
Comment has been collapsed.
I do love PAYDAY 2 too. But I stopped playing it when "Hey, we added more content and more achievements, but pay us if you want to be able to unlock them".
Comment has been collapsed.
Then you should also know that they regularly give out free copies of their dlc to many people.m
For example once they had this competition on making a video on payday. Everyone who participated got a career criminal edition upgrade to their base game. And they also offer their stuff for free to anyone who writes and makes a proper video guide on the game and sends it to them. Plus, the dlc is always worth the money and includes proper stuff, yet is not a game changer. And when you compare that with activision's 1.99$ weapon skins, you'll kind of have to agree that they're rather nice in their approach with the dlc. (Free for those willing to put extra effort and not a game-changer for anyone).
Also, I like how people ignore the part when the devs actually add more free content, They've released 4(or more) heists + weapons and achievements free for everyone since launch.

Wow that is pretty bullshit.
Next thing will be "PREORDER-NOW. TO GET ACCESS TO THE CAMPAIGN MODE!"

Being a zombie as an exclusive pre-order reward...? Who the-...
Why? Who the heck is making this garbage? How will this game ever work when the people who pre-ordered it get bored after the first day/week?
Edit: Also, Oh my gosh, those aren't even zombies, they just look like africans who suffer from that rare skin pigmentation condition/disease.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, I don't think you get it. There is already zombies in the game, but playing as one is exclusive.

I think it's absolute shit that Batman Arkham Knight was announced to have Day One DLC, like 7 months in advance, and then it was delayed until next year, so it now has DAY ONE DLC, one year in advance. Seriously, what the fuck man.
I think this is the earliest DLC has ever been announced for a game, but no one seems to mind, not sure why.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well to be fair that was a different developer that made that game and that season pass.
But yeah, given the history, I expect a lot of DLC for Arkham Knight just like AA and AC got. I'll be waiting for the GOTY edition myself(When it's 75% off).
Comment has been collapsed.
Rocksteady wasn't much better with it. Unless you really plan to play all of those challenges time and AGAIN, because that sure hasn't gotten boring after three titles.. or skins. yeaaah!/sarcasm. And those rare "narrative DLC" of Arkham games aren't exactly of the same quality as the campaigns either, also super short every time. So yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of their add-ons. Some people could have gotten value out of it with their automatic "GOTY" upgrades though.

Judging by the FAQ, I don't think it will be available as a DLC in the future.
Comment has been collapsed.
Where is the FAQ? I doubt the actual Frequently Asked Questions will be there, AKA, "Are you guys ****ing dumb?"
Comment has been collapsed.
Hmm, from faq:
"What is the "Be the Zombie" mode?
"Be the Zombie" is a pre-order exclusive mode that allows you to play as the Night Hunter. As the Night Hunter, you are able to invade other player's game, and try to hunt them down." - so, it's Dark Soulsy thingie
"What if I don't want to be invaded by a zombie?
You can disable that option within the game." - so, let's just show third finger by disabling it, so people who preorder it will send angry mails about not being able to invade anyone.
Comment has been collapsed.
At least, especially when people may simply turn it off to spite both Techland and the people who supported their tactics by pre-ordering. Eventually, the game will drop in price, and even the conscientious objectors may buy it, albeit without the ability to invade others. This only really gives pre-order people a fairly short sweet-spot between first launch a little ways down the line to experience the invasion thing. Anybody who wanted to pre-order and missed it (or simply didn't hear of the pre-order bonus before discovering the game) may also be bitter enough to auto-disable the feature.
This is even considering that the developer might fully intend to go "Oh okay we listened to what you said, now we're going to let you have it as a DLC!", which then gives pre-order folks the shaft. Sure, you sometimes get exclusives that stay exclusive, but they're often things like reskins and the like, never something as big as a game mode or chunks of campaigns. Simply by virtue of the effort put into the extra content.
The worst part? I'm normally the kind of guy to vote with my wallet, but I feel the pressure of wanting to pre-order just to make sure I can experience that game mode. Even if we all joined hands here in this forum and pledged not to pre-order, you know that people are going to flock to the title like lemmings, rendering any such noble effort to send a message kinda pointless. For every red flag raised in annoyance, they'll be counting at least ten in delicious green.

Glad to see the community hub of the game is filled with the same discussion.

Everyone needs to stop pre-ordering. It leads to disappointment and BS like this. Anyone get ripped by Destiny lately? Yea.... gamers can only blame themselves for that pile of BS (DLC, stuff missing from the game to sell you later as DLC or "expansions" etc) If you stop pre-ordering or "early accessing" and buying useless overpriced DLC this BS will stop.
Comment has been collapsed.
From what I hear, people are still loving destiny, outside of a few problems and misconceptions that any game or media ever made can and does have. Destiny had at least a few betas open to the public so its not like they lied about what the released game would be fcol.
Comment has been collapsed.
Now pre-order exclusives aren't a bad thing. Giving people who back the game early with some cosmetic items isn't bad, but when you're cutting content out of the game to give to people who pre-order and then sell it later for DLC means 2 things. Either you're a greedy fuck, or you don't have faith in your game and you want people to start paying up now so that way you have the money because people can realize that it's a shitty game. In all honesty it just looks like Dead Island with some parkour. Not that that's a bad thing really since I enjoyed the Dead Island games, but charging $60 for a near copy of another game is pretty far fetched. I'll be waiting for a GOTY edition + sale.

Wow that is a real sh*t move by Techland. I understand that they want to entice people to pre order and offer them a reward for such... but I don't think that locking away a whole gamemode in that process is just. If there is enough outcry from the players, be sure that they will realize the mistake they made. (hopefully...) And then maybe they will unlock it for everyone later? Or as a paid DLC? This on the other hand will make the pre order peeps angry... They need to find a sweet spot, but unfortunately there is none. Either way I don't see locking away gamemodes is the right thing to do... but then again is it right to cut content out of a game and just make season passes? (wich I really hate aswell) Geez this is a f$cked up world.

Pre-order FAQ
Be The Zombie Trailer
My problem would be the pre-order bonuses. I do not care about weapons as pre-order exclusives but what I do care about is playing as a zombie in multiplayer. This is too substantial to simply make it as pre-order exclusive.
What are your opinions on this and do you think it will be a DLC that can be purchasable by everyone in the future?
