Offers a choice out of 3 games, AC Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew.

Anyway who was waiting for a opportune time to buy a new GPU, now's the time!

This will also mean finding them cheap on ebay later this month!

This also means Uplay only games, I won't buy any game for Uplay anymore unless it's 3€ like Splinter Cell Blacklist, or I get it for free, but from GPU is better selling it while is high priced, and then buying on good Steam sale.

True I suppose, still if you where thinking of either pre-ordering 1 of the games or a new card then this is ideal.
This will mean I will be able to get Far Cry 4 on eBay for about 20 quid give or take.

For now you can get 30-40$ for each of these game I think on eBay.

I got AC IV for $3 on steamtrades, so it is possible.

Let's see...

  1. Not AC anymore.
  2. Another Far Cry.
  3. Racing game.

Nah.

In all honesty they're all going to be subpar. I hear The Crew is decently fun. Might pick it up for cheap from traders.

So you want to buy video card just for a game that comes with it?

$60 rebate in the form of game, resell for $40 and get $792 video card for $752 is a win in my book :) Better than having no game/discount.

Only one game, come on Nvidia, you can do better than that.

Because they did better than this last year.

AMD's current one is a lot better too.

Except I have all the games I'm interested in for the AMD bundle.

Oh well. I will probably still end up buying a GTX 970 this year.

That doesn't make it worse. (I have everything from AMD bundle too, in no way thanks to Newegg's $1 promotion and Alienware's free giveaways)

Meh. uPlay = not really interested. Would buy if it was Steam-key.

Why? (order of importance)

GTX 970 still 400€ or $500 (yes, physical stuff is mostly even worse than steams $1=1€)
Can't use steam wallet for DLC.
uplay's downloading sucks, can't do anything while it downloads.
Need to redownload everything after reinstall.
No steam cards if they ever get added.
:(

Ubisoft games on Steam still use udon'tPlay.
I'd prefer to get it on Steam, for things like cards and what not, but if I wanted to buy a new GPU I wouldn't really take into consideration what DRM the free game comes with.

I think that's true for all their big name games but I heard with Child of Light that you only needed to run it through Upay the first time and after that it ran directly through steam.

I can confirm that, but dear god, if you played it in steam offline the syncing of the steam cloud, or wherever it's pulling it's data from, to uplay is TERRIBLE, a 3-5 minute sync is like "WTF"

But it downloads and updates via Steam and with Steam you don't have to redownload to reinstall.

Received my 970 on the 17th but I bought it early knowing that they'd have a bundle by early Nov. like they usually do, so no regrets there. And Uplay, ugh. No thanks.

I'd like to have FC4, but not on uplay.

Even if you buy it on Steam you will still need UPlay. Face it if you want to play Ubisoft games get UPlay, if you want to play EA games get Origin. The market is expanding from the walled garden of Steam.

lol the fact that Ubisoft (uplay) and EA (origin) decided not to put their games on all the platforms (aka steam) it is called "expanding" these days? =))

I as a consumer will chose what digital platform (if any "see GOG") I will use, not a company that puts all their games on their store and refuses to see in other places just because.
I have 1k plus games on tseam.. I don t want to have 50 more clients for every game i play.
And don't tell me that it "uses" already uplay when u launch it with steam, I don't care if it uses another account that i linked as long as I USE ONE FOR ALL.

I still would prefer it on Steam for at least one reason.

I bought Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Uplay. First, I install and play. Next day, I start it to see it downloading patch. Next day, another patch. And then there was one or maybe two more patching.
Kinda annoying, and time consuming.

although I wouldn't buy a top tier GPU, this doesn't seem like a good deal at all. they could at least give $70 in some form to an online store.

I ordered my parts for my new PC from PCCG on the 10th of this month. Today I get a newsletter from them saying that they'll be doing this promotion. Fucking gutted. Just 10 days after I place my order. Kicked in the guts. Could have scored 2 games.

Write to them, maybe they'll give you code.

If they say "screw you, next time wait" you can always reply with "screw you, not going to build my PC in your shop again".

And you might still have time to return item?

Yeah, I sent them an email last night. Received a reply this morning.

Hi there,

My recommendation would be to attempt to register your graphics card on MSI’s website; http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1693&products_id=29149

Redemption is via them and we don’t have any codes to give out, so it is up to MSI if they are willing to back date the promotion to your purchase at this stage. I hope that you can get a code!

Regards,

I guess I'm shit out of luck.

Man, don't give up that easily!!

Contact them!

Like Guiga said, don't give up. Worst case, write to MSI, sugarcoat it a bit ("I've always chosen your products"), add a bit about being totally disappointed when you learned waiting few more days would give you free game, try to add somewhere between lines that if they won't give you code you'll be sorry to stop supporting them and who knows :) .

Like my mom said, writing email doesn't cost much - just few minutes. And she did receive her $20 back after writing email.

Received my parts today. Registered my cards & got 2 codes. Had no hiccups, so I'm happy. Just not sure if I should redeem them or trade them. I hate Uplay!

Thanks.

I better pick a AMD R9 290 instead... first you can choose 3 games of this, plus you get CIV:Beyond Earth and the card is much cheaper and its no fucking UPLAY!

Permalink

and you need 105 more watt powersupply 0_o
and gtx970 beats R9 290 on 1080 (more than 70% plays 1080p)

I got my hopes up but then I remembered, uplay. I believe pirates offer a better service so I will not be participating in this offer. Either change to steam or offer a better service.

The only logical solution would be The Crew cause of the multiplayer and the best reviews out of those 3 games. AC is all buggy and broken, Far Cry 4 looks like far cry 3 to me just different story and magic. Literally magic.
