I've been using PixelVision for quite some time, myself.
Some of them are really bad (IMO), but they all have preview screenshots and shit so it should be easy to pick one you like. Installing them is real easy as well.

I dunno. I didn't make them, you'll have to send a message / email or w/e internal message system deviantART uses to ask the creator.

o.0 I hadn't actually looked at the screens for it and it looks very similar to PixelVision but yea it looks good.

Can't find one by Googling, but keep your eyes on this SPUF thread.

Hmm yea I guess it would be a good one for small laptops. I'm on a 15 inch laptop and manage fine with PixelVision...
As I said in the post, I didn't check all the skins for out-dated / abandoned ones, I just whacked a list up there. If you'd be so kind as to point out the ones you are referring to, I'll remove them.

Ok :D I've only started with PV yesterday, was using Blue Pulse and then Enhanced Steam up til I had to re-install Steam back at Easter and I just couldn't be bothered looking for the skin again until the Steam platform was running smoothly (It normally has issues logging me in). So just the other day I looked out for a new look found several different ones and compiled the list ;p

I thought I would just compile a list of a few custom Steam skins, I haven't made any of these, they are simply links to others work and all credit should go to the respective owners/creators.
I haven't tested these, or looked at many screenshots, use them at your own peril. I can verify that on Win7 the Enhanced Steam, the PixelVision and the Blue Pulse ones work as I have used those.
W.I.P notes that the skin is a Work In Progress.
Enhanced Steam
PixelVision
Old Flat Green Steam
Minimal Steam
Compact Steam
Windows 8 theme W.I.P
Blue Pulse
Digitally Unmastered
Several Anime themed ones
Inverted Steam
Apparition
Aquatic Night
Metro
Vista fonts
Savvy UI
StarCraft 2
Some for the Bronies out there
Metal
Big list of skins on the SPUF
The basics of installing a skin on Steam:
1) Download your chosen one
2) Unzip / unpack it
3) (Follow the README for any special cases)
4) Drop the main folder once unzipped into the Steam/skins folder on whichever drive you installed your steam directory.
Feel free to post up links to the skins you use if they aren't on here and I'll do my best to keep the list up to date.
If you find one of the skins is incompatible with some operating systems (Windows / Mac / Linux) please tell me and I'll add a note to the corresponding link.
If you find a skin that is no longer available to download anywhere or is incompatible with some bits of Steam I'll add a note about that or remove the link.
