Q: What is the first thing that comes in your mind when you hear Cyberpunk?

And here is something for the users who just wanted a giveaway and would never answer this little question.

YES!
First thought: Neuromancer.
Second: Shadowrun (the pencil and paper game from when I was a kid).
Third: Snow Crash, although that's farther down there.

Yes. I have the sequel sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.

Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive are fantastic. There's nothing quite as dense as Neuromancer, but both latter novels certainly scratch that same itch like nothing else. Molly Millions is the shiz-ni-eet.

Philip K. Dick - I still consider him an actual Cyberpunk writer, as his books are full of general cyberpunk themes. And even as many CP writers refuse they were influenced by PKD at all, they somehow tended to use at most cases multiple ideas from his work - from general ideas, like mega-cities, dystopian systems, corporations running the world, to very specific one's like Dick's Matric, specific human enhancments etc.

Also as an otaku: Osamu Tezuka (because of Metropolis, one of the earliests works featuring CP themes ever), Masumune Shorow and Mamoru Oshii.
