I'm holding out on this game and waiting for the GOTY. I'm a huge fan of the Borderlands games but I love my wallet even more.

Why?

Because in Borderlands 2, I've invested in the base game + Season Pass + VHUP 2 + all Headhunter DLC and I still do not have everything in the GOTY version. All in all, I've invested more than double what the GOTY is worth since I bought the base game when it was more expensive and the season pass at full price.

NO THANK YOU, GEARBOX! I'm also holding out on the new Civ game.

I bought all the Borderlands 2 DLC... I'll probably do the same in PS if they lied when saying the Season Pass would include all DLCs.

You just encourage them to lie more!

After playing BL1, and BL2+season pass I can say I am simply burned out by BL games. I cannot be bothered with the grinding that comes later on, the games just get reptitive. I'm skipping pre-sequel entirely, and may get BL3 on sale if they really shake things up.

The real question is if you want to play the game now, or a year from now.

About 2 years if expecting to buy the GOTY edition on sale (real sale, not 33% off).

I love the games. After spending more than 400 hours in Borderlands 2(which I held out to get in GOTY edition, as should you have done), now I've started replaying Borderlands 1 just for nostalgia. But The Pre-Sequel just seems like a desperate cash-in. It's not a legitimate Borderlands game, it's just an expansion pack for Borderlands 2, Borderlands 2.1 if you prefer. I'd say wait. The DLCs it'll get will highly increase its value. I'm still wondering whether I should buy it at all.

I'm holding out on a decent price for Borderlands 1 (the original non GOTY edition). I don't buy DLC and I don't want to spend the extra money for a GOTY version. Yet it seems all the sales are for that version.

Theoretically shouldn't there only be a Pre-Sequal GOTY edition if it's this year's GOTY?

Looks boring and basically the same as BL1 and BL2, it gets old real quick.

Yeah. I loved XCOM, Dishonored, Borderlands 2, Sanctum 2, and a few other titles. But I am honestly f** ** off they sell GOTY editions at 80% off while DLCs are never half that, gouging early adopters and making them pay more for DLC than whole new game + DLC costs. And it's not even cosmetic DLC, these are story DLCs completing the game plotline. Congratulations, you made me NEVER buy another game of yours until it's GOTY and 75% off.

And the worst thing is, seeing how the practice spread recently it might be pushed by Valve and its "economist" guy and the companies are simply rolling with it - making new push to ban game trading and killing 75% discounts look like kneejerk reaction to people soured on that practice by making the backstab gouging even worse :|

I'm not really in a hurry or more borderland games as I'm pretty content with BL1 GotY... and I still need to find someone get that gearbox accheivement.

Players who have alot of money like Russians(yes, most of our people enjoy it)/true fans call it masterpiece, while those with low money/very knowing about content call it an DLC to BL2 or simply an crap. If price like most say would be like 30$/599 rubles, then they would like it. On steamcharts Borderlands 2 has more people than on BL:TPS.

Too much of the same thing. They need to do something fresh. And this crap with DLCs and GotY editions is frustrating too. Same with many other games. ;/

AFAIK, Gearbox currently only plan to release 4 DLCs for TPS (2 are already released). The real kicker is only 1 of those DLCs will be a story expansion (2 are character classes and 1 is holodome).

So, all in all, TPS really does feel like an expansion to BL2 / money grab. That's why I'm holding out too (though I doubt TPS will be a 2014 GOTY candidate, let alone winner).

I love BL1&2, have them complete except for some of the skins, but I have a baaaaad feeling about the presequel. Might even skip it altogether or at least wait until a GOTY version

I probably won't get TPS, even though I still play and enjoy the first two games. A new BL game would really have to change things up to get me to purchase it, and TPS doesn't qualify.

I'm waiting both for a GOTY, for it to be cheaper, and for me to get a new computer that'll actually properly run it. I was stubborn as hell for Borderlands 2 and played at an average of 15fps or less. My graphics card is just plain awful but when I want to play a game I deal with it.

Got a free copy from PAX East, still never even bothered to play it because Blands 2 bored the shit out of me.

Unless I win it here, I'm really unlikely to buy it (barring a 90%+ sale/price glitch being slapped in my face). That's mostly because from what I've heard... it's "meh". And not just a small "meh", a big, cash grab, epic fail sort of "meh".

When it comes to Borderlands-related stuff I mostly follow one guy on Youtube who more or less focuses completely on the series and I don't like what I'm seeing in the Pre-Sequel. They didn't fix what was broken (game balance, listening to what the community wants and allowing people to get the guns they want without having to grind for an eternity; even made the last one worse with their most recent patch apparently) and managed to break some of the stuff that were ok before (humor and content/price ratio). So, yeah, I'm less than optimistic about it. :/

I was waiting for GOTY too. But then this happened. Haven't played it yet, but I will soon.

I quite liked BL1, but never got BL2 because no GOTY edition. TPS isn't even on my radar because I haven't played BL2 yet.

It's the same with Fable 3. I enjoyed the first Fable a lot, but Fable 2 never came to PC, so I didn't bother with Fable 3. (Not that it mattered; in the end Fable 3 faded away from PC as well)

I've bought it for 12$ on nuuvem and the Season Pass was cheap too. The Season Pass DLC's are the ones that matter to me, I don't care about cosmetic DLC's. I've bought the Headhunter DLC's for Borderlands 2 though but those may not be included in the Season Pass so I won't buy them anytime soon
