well if you don't have money/time, those are the basic things you need to have, to get a good laptop/coolpad. I am saying this because I had same problem with my Acer laptop which has AMD processor + AMD onboard graphics. After I bought coolpad it was fixed for some of the games.

Maybe then. It's just that I don't think my dad would let me buy it, even if it is $11. I bought a lot of things for my laptop (mouse, trackpad, cd-drive, warranty, etc.), so I think he'd be annoyed if we bought more. Especially since it was a $1100 laptop.

Sorry to say it chcoman123, but IMO you can't afford not to have a cooler.
Laptops have horrific airflow, and most of them practically require additional air movement especially when running at load. Fortunately, coolers are rather low cost... and I think you and your father would be far less annoyed getting the cooler v. sending in the laptop for repairs again and again. You should also consider that eventually that warranty runs dry, and the cost of replacing the HDD (though not exorbitant) will exceed $10 - $15.

Yeah, don't download too much porn. Install some program for monitoring hard drive like Hard Disk Sentinel and most important thing you can't prevent hard drive failure because today's electronic is mostly junk.

Using windows 8 on my laptop and 2 desktop PCs and never been better

First I would try to use some cleaning programs, like CCleaner and Spyware terminator.
Next I would check for hardware errors with programs like Memtest and HDSentinel. If these drop errors change the faulty hardware or have it repaired with warranty.
If there are no hardware issues I'd do heating and stress test with Furmark and IntelBurnTest. If the issue is overheating clean the computer or have it cleaned in warranty.
If none of these show help I'd reinstall Windows, and if the issue still persists warranty again.

look like a virus or over heating issue, some virus lock your cpu usage to 100 % and when you ctrl+alt+delet, it detect it and shut it self off so you cant see it, so your temps stay high for a long time and it close. try to start it on safe boot and run an antivirus

So, about a month or two ago, I bought myself a nice laptop, and I asked around on here, and everyone says that it was really good. I was using it for awhile, but then it froze up completely one day, and I had to hard boot. After I hard booted, it gave me an error saying I couldn't get back into the OS (Windows 8.1). However, after a while, it just randomly went back in, and I eventually forgot it about it. Then, I had to hard boot again because I was playing a game and it completely froze up my computer. I couldn't get task manager, I couldn't force quite with alt+f4, nor could I do a normal shut down. I didn't remove the battery because the laptop I bought didn't have a removable one. So i hard booted, and I got the same issue from before, except this time, it wouldn't boot back into Windows 8.1. I sent it in to get it repaired, because after checking the BIOS, I found that the hard drive blew, and it's taking forever. However, during this time, I would like to know why this could've happened and how I can prevent it in the future.
Also PLEASE for the love of GOD, DO NOT GIVE ME SNARKY OR SARCASTIC RESPONSES! I just need help so that this doesn't happen again. And don't say "Build my own". I don't have the time, and building a laptop, which I need more than a desktop, is much more difficult.
