Won a giveaway, not redeemable in my country..?

Didn't mention anythign about it being region locked in the description iirc. I'm in the UK.

Do I get them to reroll a winner or..? Didn't find a huge amount about it in the FAQ other than you're not supposed to give away region locked stuff.

What region is the giveaway intended for? Some games have only a very small exclusion zone (like No German activations can normally get away), while others are only for a handful of countries and are outright not allowed.

I'm not sure, it doesn't say anything other than it can't be activated in this region. I get the feeling it's Russian, or there abouts, judging by the user who gave it away and their Steam profile.

Then they shouldn't have made the giveaway. Contact them and explain the problem, see if they are willing to do something about that. If not, you have to wait a week then mark Not Received.

  • That puts the users account at risk, and maybe repeatedly if it requires the user be in the country to even play the game.
  • Its still not something that should have been given away since it was heavily restricted.

steam devs said it like countless times that you don't get banned for mere VPN activation. Buying cheap games from foreign stores by VPN is the thing where they don't show any mercy and permban ya.
