How to make close friends kind of like a more relationship situation than friendship?

In a game is pretty easy. Though it really depends on what kind of friend you're looking for and whatnot. I found my best online buddy in a MMO, we were guildies and we just stuck by each other for about 4-5 years, we still skype and whatnot.

I haven't found a "best friend" on the forums yet, but most people will probably tell you to go outside and get a life or something.

but in all seriousness, consider yourself lucky if you do find someone to stick by, i know almost every gaming community ive tried to become a part off, hasnt really taken to me, maybe its just me, but i find it really difficult to find anyone to game with lately.
forums arent a new thing for me, ive been on forums for a long time, but if theres one thing ive learned so far, it be that not to expect a legitimate response from them.

Made friend with a guy through L4D2, and attended his wedding a few months ago. He's really nice and kind. So I think it's possible :)
