What would prevent someone from just emailing the person the solution that was leaked, being added and then being added to the group? Its the same exact thing as mentioned above with the "email me the solution and Ill send you the link" except the author has to also make a steam group.

Doesn't help if no one solves them in that short duration.

I simply LOVE how commited you all are to the community, the sole fact that you are actually behind stuff like this, caring for a puzzle solution in the forum to be leaked is amazing :), thanks!!!!

Can we have some sort of mandatory rule about what the giveaways are and what time they end in the opening posts?

I agree. Not knowing what game this puzzle is about is very annoying. Or that it's ending before you have the time to solve anything.

Especially when you need to e-mail the puzzle creator for the giveaway link.

How about passworded giveaways?
Such as the person making the giveaway makes a post on the forum:
"XXX PUZZLE"
Where they post the description of the puzzle as well as the link:
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/XXXXX/mystery-prize
Now, the public display page only shows the entry box for the password and date ending. They may or may not include the puzzle in the description or any advanced information required if you win i.e. HOW you solved the puzzle.
Also how about sub-forums dedicated to puzzle giveaways?

how you solved the puzzle...ask the creator how he solved it, simple as that?
I don't think that anything will be affective here since everything would be leaked out unless if maybe the owner would have some special ability on protecting the giveaway

Greetings community,
I've been receiving many "this puzzle has been leaked" tickets and PMs lately. I wanted to clear up any confusion regarding our policy on puzzles. The only policy we've really held is that users do not give away the solutions in the forum or threads.
There are a limited number of ways a moderator can help keep a puzzle solution safe. Due to the number of people entering them, it's logistically impossible to safeguard the links.
Members have tried "email me solution, I'll email URL" before, but it's only been one extra step for leakers. As of now, we can't protect puzzle giveaways. However, we will continue to support them, remove if leaked, and if possible, suspend the accounts of those that were responsible for the leaks.
-regards
