Oh, I meant that as the answer to your question, "Do you like Hearthstone?"
As for the video, since it was just a replay of a Hearthstone match I'm not really sure how to comment on something like that.

It's not bad, easy to learn, probably hard to master as you will need to play (or pay) a lot to get cards.
If you plan to play if often go for it, if it's only for a few games i wouldn't go for it.

I'm enjoying TotalBiscuits Videos, but not interested in playing it personally. More interested in Yu-Gi-Oh although I'm not playing that either.

Check out this game for ridiculous RNG. XD

Yes, it's possible, but not in a competitive match, i'm afraid. :P This is REALLY old, though... Most cards I'm seeing there are not the same on live.

I wouldn't mind borrowing some of that luck for my arenas. I like playing HS, but my luck there is horrendous.

Well, much BM in this video and your deck contains Harpy :p Nice luck indeed.

Edit: my bad you got it with thoughtsteal.

Permalink

harpy would actually be good, if it survived the turn (which in 99% of the games it doesn't). ^^

I definetly do, love the voice work, effects, earning gold to buy cards and such, but Infinity Wars is far better. Animated cards for the win.

pretty neat but i've seen craziest RNG ;p I have clear board (enemy cleared it with Flamestrike) and almost empty hand, enemy - 4x mirror image taunts, 1-2 weak trash minions, 15 hp, enemy plays Ragnaros. Almost GG isn't it? Mind Control Tech -> 1/7 chance to steal Rag, steals Rag. Rag has 1/7 chance to hit face and 6/7 to hit one of trash minons. Hits the face. TWICE in 2 turns. GG. (chance for all this to happen was ~0.3% ;p)

I did but Blizzard is slowly killing it like usual. See that recent Buzzard/Hunter nerf? WTF.... They can't fix the hunter so they just break it.... GG.

Comment has been collapsed.

What do you suggest they do then?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well, do you think it's a fun game if 70% play hunter? there has to be a nerf of some kind. and hunter should still be quite strong. i won enough games without buzzard.

I can tell you're a pro due to all the BM.

What'd you end up going that arena run? 1-3? 2-3?

i still didn't finish it. 4-1 at the moment.

btw, you seem to think i am a bad player. well, feel free to come to EU servers and play a few rounds against me. :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's the assumption of most when excessive there is excessive BM.

I play NA and don't have nearly as many cards on EU, but I'd be willing to add play some games. Need to have at least someone on my EU friends list. :p

It's pay to win and unoriginal

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it's definitely not pay to win. you get gold for packs all the time. especially in the beginning you get a lot for getting some achievements (like defeating all AI's, getting your first online wins and so on). and with the daily quests, a dedicated player should easily get something like 500-1000 gold each week (which is 5-10 packs).

besides, it's not like all the expensive (rare) cards are good and all the commons are bad. look at the really good zoolock or hunter decks. those decks are so cheap. most cards are common or soulbound. i started a f2p account like 2 months ago, and it was surprisingly easy to get enough cards to craft a good hunter deck. with this deck i should be able to get past rank 5 without bigger problems.

Trump proved it and got legend rank with his f2p account. all you need to do is invest some time (which you do anyway, if you enjoy the game).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you can pay to not spend the time to get rewards than that is still pay to win.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no, i don't think that's correct. in my opinion pay to win is, when the game clearly tries to force you into buying stuff and makes progress impossible (extra currency, which can only be obtained by paying real money), or at least extremely hard (endless grinding with very little progress).

the progress in HS for f2p players is actually quite good in my opinion. you constantly get new gold (=new packs). if you make your daily quests (which doesn't mean you have to play every day, btw), you get a good amount of new cards per week. and if you need a specific card for a deck, you can just use the crafting system and exchange a few garbage cards for the card you want.

sure, it takes time to get all cards. but it has to be like that. imagine every player in the world has every card in the game after 2 weeks. wouldn't be much of a collectible card game then, would it? ^^

i think it's pretty fair.

and by the way, if you want cards really fast, why don't you just invest money? people have no problem buying 12-hour-single-player-games for 60$ or paying hundreds of dollars for their favorite MMO, but as soon as they hear "free to play", they say it's idiotic to invest even a dollar. "you invest money? are you stupid?! it's free, lol!" i am glad that not everybody thinks like that (else there wouldn't be a Hearthstone).

Someone who has never played the game before and spends money has an advantage over someone who has equal experience and doesn't spend money.

That is pay to win. It's the same thing in League of Legends.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

a game is not automatically pay to win, when there is the possibility to buy content with real money. pay to win is when you are basically forced to pay, because otherwise you cannot compete with paying players and you make nearly no progress. that is not the case with HS.

good examples are all those games where there is premium currency, which can only be obtained with real money (and which is basically needed to make reasonable progress). in HS you can buy anything with gold. and you get reasonable amounts of gold by simply playing the game. you make progress all the time.

Comment has been collapsed.

The definition of pay to win is being able to pay for an advantage with real money.

Hearthstone is pay to win because you can buy cards with real money instead of grinding.

It doesn't matter if you don't think it's bad it's still pay to win.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No it's not, you need a dictionary because you obviously don't know what words mean.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you can pay to get an advantage, then the game is pay to win. What's your definition?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I played it for a few months, but it's about 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will 5% pleasure 15% pain and .....ok I'll stop this bullshit, it's actually about 60% luck 30% your deck/hero and 10% skill and that annoys me to death, so I stopped that shit ^^

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well, i would say: the better your deck, the less luck is involved (because then you tend to have answers for everything your opponent plays). but yeah, luck is of course a factor.

nice!

I stopped playing (after I finished heroic naxx) because of the announcement of more than 100 new cards in the next expansion. Too much grind, hardly have time to do the daily quests. No opportunity to ever play arena again (because I need all the gold for expansion wings) and constructed is just frustrating in the end (maybe it would be better if I hard some perfect decks without some cheap substitutes - but I don't).
