If you want to complain about something they write at least 1) link to it and 2) don't take it out of context (in case you actually read it and not only the pro and con list). The author was mostly complaining that the Pokemon itself are too water heavy. Too many battles against water type Pokemon and all that. The environment was the least of his / her complains.

I was just laughing at IGN, like most of their reviews are mostly bullshit, and this game should have lots of water, ground and grass type Pokemon's, and the environment it self is wet. Also IGN. There are more games rated with same quote "Too much water" from IGN, not only this ones.

I share the complaint. Heavily imbalanced towards water types, that in the original versions I'd end with a team of a L60 Electric and a L40 everything else.

To make it clear, since most ppl only see the pros and cons, the reviewer could just say, "too many water types", or "imbalanced towards water types", because "too many water" has a completely different meaning, like complaining about the game it self having too many rainy weather, sea, lakes, etc, when game is supposed to be like this since it's a tropical island, and it doesn't tell anything about water Pokemon, also this quote was used before in other different games too, this also become a meme now.

Most of the water types are only overdone in the water areas though. Where they all use Tentacool and that whale.

Also check this video, it shows what it makes ppl think seeing it, regardless of what what's in the review about imbalanced towards water type, since like I said this quote says nothing about water type Pokemon, and a quote must show the meaning, but it doesn't, it just completely confuses ppl:

Edit: nobody liked Grass Simulator, it doesn't have same hype as Bad Rats, well I completely understand this, Bad Rats at least has gameplay time and fun, this thing only has 5 min of fun, and then nothing more.

Happily beating up random monsters, taking trainers' money, and wondertrading off mons I don't want/need for random mons I may like in Sapphire. Two of the best trades I got were from Pokemon I caught because the Nav said they were holding Revives.

I was thinking about buying a 2DS or 3DS XL or better wait for New 3DS XL, which is still to come until next year, I suppose in your country New Zealand you already have it on stores a few days ago according to Wikipedia, I really hate small screens and if getting 2DS I liked to connect it to the PC screen, but as I saw Capture Cards for this thing cost really a lot of money, from 270-460$ lol, idk if there is a cheap way of connecting it, so in this case I would have to get an XL version with bigger screen. I liked Wii U instead, but the games I would play are coop, and I very rarely stay with friends lately, so playing these games alone will be shit.
Some questions to 2DS/3DS owners: Is the 3D feature really good? is it worth waiting for New 3DS XL? and besides using a Capture Card is there another way to connect it to PC screen or output the screen without painful ways?

Yeah, midnight launch would let us get the New 3DS stuff the same time as Pokemon.
As a 2DS user, I can't say anything about the 3D. We don't get it. :P
The screens on the XL are very nice sized though, but that wider space for the buttons on the 2DS mean less cramping for me.
You will need the special gear for capturing footage, unless you want to aim a video camera at the screen while you play.

Almost 5 inch screen like on XL version seems nice yes, the New 3DS is selling very well in Japan and ppl love it. The New 3DS XL cost, converting yen to € is like 140€, but yeah in Spain this means a way more expensive :(, 2DS is 109€, with pre-installed game 130€, and with physical game 140€, but normal 3DS XL cost 175€, with game 199€, idk how much will the New 3DS cost. But if I get one I will be just playing Pokemon games, Monster Hunter 3, and maybe Luigi's Mansion 2 or Fire Emblem, so idk, I don't like to spend that much.

I'll address the 3D feature. Also the New 3DS is supposed to release for the same price the originals were. It was $180 for a 3DS XL here, so it'll be $180 for the New 3DS XL here. :v
A lot of people say the 3D is just a gimmick, but I dunno, I like it.
Finding the ONE spot it works, though, and holding it there can be really uncomfortable if you don't have the luxury of playing it from the comfort of your bed or your couch where you can prop yourself up just right for awhile.
Also, I've found that you'll wind up moving around for some of the games it looks nicer in - like, say, OoT's 3D effects whenever Link holds something over his head. It looks amazing, especially the spiritual stones at the beginning of the game, but a lot of the aiming you'll be doing in OoT will be with the motion controls. Maybe it's just me, but it feels a lot more responsive and faster than using the circle pad. And you really don't want to move the 'older' console if you're looking at it in 3D.
Supposedly the new one fixes that 'sweet spot' issue so you're not constantly turning it on and off - or even better, just turning it on for cutscenes - but I can't speak for the new 3DS yet as I'm in North America.
Oh. Aaaand, while it was never a problem for me with OoT, which was the most important part of my collection to see in 3D, there are still a lot of games that see significant lag with the 3D enabled. Pokemon, for example, even though it does next to nothing visually. The new console, with double the hardware power, supposedly fixes that, too.
tl;dr I say wait for the new console if you want to play it in 3D comfortably, ever.
If you're willing to forgo the 3D, as you probably would be for several of the titles you mentioned, then just grab the cheaper 2DS.

Not going to publicly list my friend code, but just wanted to mention that you can reset the Special Edition Demo by deleting and redownloading it from the eshop.
The Demo will allow you to farm items(Transfer multiple times), but Glalie can only be sent once per save file.
