Do you use it? And if so, what have you spent your credits on?

So far, I ended up buying:

LA Noire Complete - very disappointed in this one, glad i didn't use real money on it.

2 copies of Virtua Tennis 4 - for me and a friend, now i can stare at Caroline Wozniacki's virtual bum bum

And a smaller game currently up for grabs in a private giveaway (not that hard to find, but its not in this thread)

So yeah, that is my bragging, lets hear yours :)

Nice, Mini Ninjas is fun! I haven't played the others you mentioned.
It seems the new system is geared towards new releases mostly, is that correct?
I don't read their blogs or update news aside from the new rewards post..

No doubt, but once Phelps put his bare hand(s) on the revolver in the first mission, that was it for me.

i used it a lot; so far 60pounds, i've bought a few games like lego, state of decay and dlc for Victoria II and CKII

After they changed rewards system a while ago, earning is almost waste of time. They give rewards only like 0,1 and there is a lot less than before

I got all this stuff so far from rewards and have about $70 USD left, waiting for more sales. The biggest surprise so far is Remember Me. With all the bad reviews I thought the game would be horrible but its quite enjoyable. Also be sure to join this group if you haven't already for tips and people to do MP rewards with.

I got Castlevania Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, Dark Souls PTDE on a sale, and still have $71 on account. I will definetely get GTA V there.

So far, I've gotten:

  • State of Decay
  • LEGO Marvel Superheroes
  • State of Decay – Breakdown DLC
  • Deus Ex: The Fall

And I have $13 in credit at the moment. Not shabby for free games, especially considering I haven't made much effort to earn the Rewards beyond "play for the first time" and some random achievements.

I use it although, but have not bought anything with my credit yet. The worst thing about it is waiting to play games until they come up just so I can be certain to get the first time played credit.

  • Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
  • Tomb Raider GOTY
  • Poker Night 2
  • The Walking Dead 400 Days DLC
  • Dark Void
  • Dark Void Zero
  • Skullgirls Bundle
  • Hitman Pack
  • Virtua Tennis 4 (came with Jet Set Radio for free)
  • Borderlands 2 DLC
  • Hitman: Contracts (was not included on the Hitman Pack for whatever reason)
  • Kane & Lynch 2

I have $8 left, I've made quite a profit from Playfire :)

Sadly I have no game with rewards from liek the past 2 weeks. (besider free to play Unturned's 0.10Ł )
I collected like 10-11Ł, bought Thief collection (1 gold, 2, metal age) and Kain's Legacy pack, like 7Ł together. So far so good, not waiting for more owned games appear in the rewards section :)

Looks like the steamlessness site is buggy, today's rewards are all green for everyone for some reason.
The Forgotten Ones is indeed F2P though, so there's some easy rewards :)

None for me :( I don't know what's wrong, but I get no rewards. I logged into my Playfire account with my GMG info, and everything.

Although I don't cheat the system and haven't had any problems getting Support to manually give me credit for achievements, I'm still apprehensive about building up a large balance. There's been more than a few people who have had their accounts shutdown, with all credit erased and there's nothing they can do about it. Once I get over $10, I get antsy, so I start looking for things on sale. I just spent my nestegg on a pack of all of the DLC for XCom-Enemy Unknown/The Bureau. Time to start saving up again!

Honestly, its the same for me, it falls in the "Too good to be true" adage, so if i don't spend it quick enough, i may just one day not have it anymore, though i suppose if there was any real problem, the games would just be removed from my account...

Yep, same with me. Most I saved up at one time was $17. Back to around $1.50 now I think, and with the way the system is now, not expecting to hit $5 for a good, long while XD

On a positive note, I think the fact that people aren't earning it in huge piles anymore might encourage them to allow vouchers to be used with credit again, sometime in the future. Probably not until after they see more of the $50-100 credit balances used up, though.

Totally dead now, you just can't reward achievements otherwise steam would already do, you can't prevent people from cheating. There's no way to track a cheater.

I didn't know this web. How does it work? I play and they give me credit to buy more games?

You register. There is a downloadable app for it (Playfire Vulcan), it's quite handy. Every day there is a playfire blog post about what games' which achievements worth, and how much money. Every offer is up for a week - You get the achievement/goal, and eventually they'll give you the credit for it. You can spend the credits on Green Man Gaming.

Ok thanks! And if you already have the achievement, is it ok or you miss the money?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You'll miss it, unless it happens to be a current reward the first time you get sync'd up. Otherwise, already earned achievements and games you've already played won't count for future rewards. But its an easy way to earn a little free credit towards future games. Besides, I like the incentive to try games I already own but have never bothered to install.

Thanks. It's a shame that you miss it but I won't complain, it's free. And yes, it will be a motivation to try some games I've not started yet!

My most consistently earned reward is "play for the first time". I used to just launch all games with cards and earn them, but now I wait until there's a reward to play it for the first time. Its just $0.10 each, but it all adds up.

If you do start using it, I highly suggest you use either Steamlessness or Madjoki's. It makes it much easier to tell what eligible games/achievements you have, although Steamlessness is a little buggy today. They're also nice because it'll show you the F2P games as well.

I used it to buy Age of Mythology, Max Payne 3 Complete, and Gauntlet. Though it seems to me like they don't have as many big £0.50 rewards anymore.

For now I've used it to get: The Walking Dead: 400 Days

I don't track it that much so I'm loosing quite a lot :P last achievements were from thief and The Walking Dead: 400 Days xD

Btw is there a way to sync faster with playfire? I've missed out few rewards, because sync with steam was late.

It should also be mentioned that you can get 0,25£ per a game review on GMG(1£ if yours is first)

For any rewards that you earned prior the deadline, but didn't get credit for, just file a support request. It takes a while, but its free money. I've filed two (one with four rewards, another with 8, came out to about $3). For things like achievements, its easy enough for them to check your profile and see when the achievement popped. The "play for the first time" rewards are a little tougher for them to verify, but so long as you don't have any achievements from before the beginning of the period, it shouldn't be an issue.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, as I posted ticket (I had to anyway as I had a problem where it didn't track any rewards). I had screens with the times of achievements 1h prior to deadline, but only on steam. Support team rewarded me all lacking rewards that were on time at playfire, but not those few that synced next day.

Or actually I don't know anymore, because i have over 3£ noted as rewards but the page shows me only march when I've posted the ticket and gained ~1,5£.

I didn't buy anything from my ~12 euros, because it wouldn't transfer to GMG, and support has been unable to read my messages for 2 and a half months, thus solving three nonexistent problems that I never had, while never even touching on the one I actually do have. 3 months in, I gave up, since all my tickets were getting replies oly after 1-2 week of posting them (within the same ticket, mind you), and because fuck all that crap. I'd rather build my physical collection of PS2 games instead, thanks.
