not really. You will be able to maybe play ep5, but you will miss so many plot elements that it's not even worth it - because stripped of story ep5 is just mediocre gameplay with few bugs, nothing more.
These games were developed with fans in mind and do a very poor job at introducing newbies to franchise.

just skip first 4 episodes at all - episodes have no connection with each other altogether, ep 1-4 was rushed almost-prototypes - they have story that can be told in 1-2 sentences each, barely-existant gameplay mechanics and are not really worth your time unless you're extremely dedicated Whovian.
That being said ep 1-4 form Season 1, while whole S2 is just ep5. And it's totally different game.
First of all, while it doesn't have great graphics at least they are no longer just basic polygons. It doesn't look AAA, but it isn't AAA, and for an indie game it looks just fine.
Second - it has actual developed gameplay - it's 3d point'n'click adventure game with ability to move normally and occassional arcade or stealth challenge. Mechanics aren't something impressive, but they do work just fine, what is much more than what you can tell about eps 1-4. I wouldn't play this game solely for it's game mechanics, but neither do game mechanics make want to stop playing it.
Third - It has much bigger game world. It's several times bigger than all the locations from ep1-4 combined. And locations are nice and different from each other - you will visit sewers, streets of victorian england, tavers, houses, palace, gardens etc. Also locations aren't linear and you can explore them a little bit to find secrets and easter eggs.
Fourth - the most important - STORY! The solely reason to play ep5. It has a great story that really feels like Doctor Who double episode ;) It has good level of details, plot twists, Whovian jokes and references and is really very enjoyable to anyone who is a fan of the show ;)
So long story short - if you enjoyed TV Series - play ep5 as it's totally worth it. And skip previous 4 episodes ;p

Well that's what I was going to give away for the Fourth Doctor quiz.
But yeah just use a proxy for it.

oooh that one doesn't look half bad. Not sure why I always just assumed it was just like Adventure Games and ignored it.

mivel drm free a cucc így teljesen felesleges vele bajlódni, teljesen mindegy, hogy ezt vagy egy torrent verziót szedsz le, de a torrent hamarabb megvan:D

This is game piracy:
"I live outside the UK - can I play the Adventure Games?
Doctor Who fans outside the UK can purchase the Windows versions of The Gunpowder Plot, City of the Daleks, Blood of the Cybermen, TARDIS and Shadows of the Vashta Nerada from http://www.legacygames.com."
So since you are stealing it if outside the UK, you may as well just download it from the Pirate Bay or wherever, and skip the proxy nonsense.

one commenter said it all:
" the eye-brow speech and the bedroom speech are so Jeff Murduch! "

It's google chrome not the antivirus. I know they are legit, scanned the other episodes for safety (since chrome warns me for this episode) and they are all clean. Instead, "The gunpowder plot"-download halts at about half of his size and I keep getting "Uncommon Download Warning"; never saw this before.. perhaps it is proxy's fault..

Tried with Hola on Firefox and it worked.. now I don't know if the problem was within Chrome or with the proxy I was using (you know.. file too big or similar..)
@Roloca: did you also get the notification for this message, or just for the other one?

You can try Hola! plugin (in Firefox or Chrome). I used it and I took the games...

That's right! The whole Doctor Who Adventure Games collection is FREE by a promotion by BBC. LINK
I live in Hungary, so I can't use it, but I think most of us would be really thankful to a UK person, who could upload the files to a cloud storage. Yeah one other thing to mention: The games are DRM-Free. To non-UK users: You can try to pass with VPN, numerous users reported, that it works with VPN.
