biased towards sony - their phones typically look good

used them (albeit the mid-range to low-end models) for a period before i switched to an iphone, but i have done a few hands-on with the higher end models in the shops, they feel quite well-made and crisp

oh yes, one of the guys at the handphone shop actually submerged a sony into water right before our eyes to prove their waterproof capabilities...not bad, indeed! (just remember to keep all the sensitive ports closed :P)

as for LG...wait, they're still around?

GSMArena Comparasion between Nexus 5 and Z Ultra

Nexus 5 and Z Ultra are identical hardware wise, although the CPU clock of the Nexus 5 is a bit faster. Nexus 5's camera has image stabilization, while Z Ultra doesn't. Z Ultra has a memory card slot, while Nexus 5 doesn't. Nexus 5 had Gorilla Glass 3 as screen protection, while Z Ultra doesn't. And the biggest difference is of course the screen size.

Based on the stats, I would say that Z Ultra is a better phone, as you get a much better screen and microSD slot.

BUT! My vote goes to Nexus 5 as I myself prefer the vanilla Android experience. With a Nexus 5 you are guaranteed to have a clean fast experience, with no crashes or freezes. Plus, you will get updates much quicker. I have a Nexus 4, which is my first smartphone and it still runs like a sweet dream. Nexus 5 is a great upgrade of Nexus 4, so I'm sure I would be even happier with a Nexus 5.

If you get the Sony Xperia Z Ultra get the Google Play Edition if not I would recommend the Nexus 5.
