Actually a good company keeps a happy medium...Ubisoft does not. You are suppose to keep people happy as a company, while making money. If anything Ubisoft has been failing at this for a while, I love some of the games they make but they have been pumping out some serious bullshit DLC/Optimation/etc...lately.
Look at Ubisofts f2p, terrible, they should not be judging.

It's still not bad advice, he didn't say anything about abusing the consumers base. But I agree, it's a delicate balance between not screwing your f2p players, satisfying your paying customers and actually making money. If you're popular, it's easier to do that some for some small time game company just starting out.
With Ubisofts many monies, it's hard for me to see how they've managed to screw up this so often..

This advice is just horrible. Make a good and fair multiplayer game. People will like it and spend time in it. The more time they spend in the game the more likely the buy even unnecessary stuff. A second good advice is: Don´t try to make a moba because LoL, Dota2 and soon HotS won´t lose players to low quality games. I can´t see how a guy from ubisoft can give such advices... their f2p games are the worst of them all. Anybody tried "The mighty quest for epic loot"? Why should anybody play a game where´s no direct interaction between players?

Yeah well, might be a business advice, might be frustration because of the many free2play games Ubi release and fail to earn through those. Consider this(I never played LoL), if a company's priority is making the game a player friendly environment first... Money should follow(that shouldn't be taken for granted though).
This Ubi analyst gives the example of World of Tanks. Well, this game features hard, I mean HARD grind to get top tier tanks. You either have to play 24/7 or resort to premium account and purchasing credits/gold. This + having virtually no competition(ground forces in WarThunder are barely playable)... Wargaming reaps heaps of monies :P
And Riot has accumulated such a big playerbase and offers, as far as I know, no "pay2win," that they're making shitloads of cash as well. And Ubicrap squirms and wiggles through its own failures with so called "free2play" games. They might give "good advice." Shame those analysts or whoever in their company can't come up with some "good advice" for themselves considering some of their "moves." And boy they got some nasty moves...

Eh, while I understand it from a business standpoint, Riot's lack of trying to force money out of the players is at least partly why the game is so successful to begin with. I know I'd stop playing League if there there was actually a reason that you had to buy crap or else fall behind paying players. With their current stand though, I throw plenty of money at them from time to time on the cosmetics. Partly because cosmetics can be fun, but mostly because I appreciate the fact that I can choose to not spend money and not be entirely fucked by those that do spend it.

He is right. If you don't have that big player base, then you have to get your money for server and development cost from something else- skins or so. He never said, games shall become unfair.
