Nice, it's awesome that this has been implemented.
Great to see the site growing better and more scammer-proof over time :D

So you don't know if you've won until the sender emails you one week later?

Meaning in the manage account - won tab?
Btw exactly what kind of scams were being pulled because of this? (I'm new here)

Welcome new guy. When you win you will have a notification on the home page. Don't worry, you won't miss it.
The scams usually went: Guy sees profile of winner, changes name and pic to imitate that person, contacts gifter and asks for gift through Steam trade.

Greetings community,
cg has implemented a few changes to the site a lot of you may have already noticed. Giveaways on the homepage will now say "Awaiting feedback" until the winner updates the gift as received. Also on the homepage, the "Latest Received Gifts" will not update with the winning name until the gift has been marked as received.
Though, that isn't all. On the actual giveaway page itself, the winner will be marked as "Anonymous" until the giveaway is received or not received. The profile page of the winner will also not list the giveaway in their Won section until that person updates their feedback on the gift.
These new changes should act as a great layer of protection for the community and cut down on any negative behavior. We appreciate your patience and encourage members to continue offering suggestions.
-Regards
