will my pc run Thief, as I see it's on sale at GMG?
1,66 ghz 1 core, second is ~1,67, 2gb,256 video ram, ati radeon 3340, everything on low, turning of explorer.exe, skype, browser, and every unncessery proccess. Also what you think, if im not able to run it will i be able to run Murdered:soul suspect, and is it possible to go lower than just 60% off? Cause what i saw in playfire was" Soul:Murdered soul suspect starting at 60% off!!!!"
Thanks in advance guys, your the best. Whenever i got question I always first come here :D

Btw: I can also afford Thief: Master Ed one of those 3 games, which will run most smoothly or at least will get around 20-25-30 fps?

Also, just wanted to add that i'v tried game with similar requirements like The Wolf Among Us and it runs very smooth..

definitely not unless you like playing lower than 800x600 res on a mega tiny windowed screen

I'll play on 640 if there is such a res in thief, as much as it runs equal to good experience. :D

Fullscreen is always faster than windowed.

not really. .since it's the same;you have the exact same # of calculations per clock cycle,be it windowed or full screen.

He means... on newer OS's, when playing in full screen, Windows disables certain graphical effects that might put unnecessary load on a CPU/GPU.

the games should be alright as they did come out some years ago

if you meet the system req usually you are fine

I'm assuming he means the new Thief, in which case it won't run for shit even if he plays on 640 res windowed all on lowest

Nope, don't think it'll even run smoothly at the lowest settings.

No way it will run, I'm on an i3 # 3.3 ghz, 4 gb ram, GTX 550 Ti 1 gb and it runs KINDA OK on medium.

Thief ran like ass on my i7 and 660ti desktop, unless I lowered the texture resolution all the way down. That was all on release date though, hopefully they patched it by now.

Don't risk wasting your money, I doubt those games would even run on that computer, and even if they did, they would definitely not be playable by any stretch.

I don't think it will, but if available download a demo or even pirate it to try it out, if it runs ok but it if you want to. I'm not gonna go around telling you what to do, but regardless on how you feel about piracy, you can use it to try out the game that doesn't have a demo.

Don't buy it. It's better to save your money to get a decent rig.

Just going to say that I played Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider 2013 on a similar laptop. At something like 800*1024, around 13-20 FPS. I had to tone down the post processing, and textures and models were set to low-mid. So it's possible, but only if you can bear that sort of number. I'm used to it though.
TR2013 is the only Square Enix PC game I've played, but I assume they use the same in-house engine for their games, apart from yearly improvements? So I'm assuming Thief won't be too different to Tomb Raider.
My experience though. I don't know if you'll enjoy the same performance I did.

I have both games and thief is alot heavier on the system compared to TR2013.

Well that's a downer. I felt that Tomb Raider would be the heaviest thing it could handle. I was surprised how well it performed on Bioshock Infinite on selectively low-mid-high settings.

Yeah im playing tomb raider around 30 fps too

That's hardly playing, I'd rather stick to older games than suffer through this.

I don't think it's a single-core. He seems to have two 1.6GHz cores.

wait...you said turn off explorer.exe? pretty sure it doesn't work that way if you meant the windows component and not IE

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. lol

If he disabled explorer.exe then he loses his taskbar and start menu at the very least.

I don't recommend doing that. o_O

explorer.exe is using too much memory and cpu. I'm turning it off every time i play games, and after i finsih, turning it on again.

The way you'd have to play this game would make it basically pointless, I doubt you'd get any enjoyment from playing at a super low resolution while still having to suffer through terrible FPS (anything below 29 is basically like watching a flip book that skips half the pages).

I suggest you play some older games, like some of the source mods here on Steam, until you can afford some better hardware.

I also recommend playing some indie games, there are A LOT of great ones out there that can run on basically any machine and they're pretty cheap.

FTL: Faster Than Light, being one of my favorites, when I first got it I was running a Core2 Duo (2.2ghz), 4GB RAM and an Intel integrated GMA4500 and the game ran like butter!

No you can not, having just 256 RAM for the Video Card, you will not be able to run and play it at low settings. + very slow processor + low memory, dont buy now if you want to play now, save your gmg credit...

Those specs are incredible though. Makes me nostalgic :D
I have a very old laptop with 64 MB Video Ram. It can run Windows XP, but that's about it. It even lags when playing Half-Life xD
