Why so many Evolve giveaways?

Yea probably. I was mostly referring to the flood of giveaways that started happening where most of the descriptions even stated they were alpha keys.

Google evolve alpha key free and you have a pick of peddlers. As far as the giveaways, there is no way this isn't an alpha key exploitation that's going on. I'd just avoid the mess.

this are legit keys - got sold alot yesterday in first hour cause of a price glitch and alot people exploitet this - would not wonder when steam kill this keys and give the people this 4 euro back they only payed per key

Most of them has "will send key" or even "alpha key". Not many people are giving full-game away, maybe in private groups.

Hundreds of legit 2015 pre-purchase keys are being given away? Or tons and tons of alpha keys being exploited? Occams razor tells me since this giveaway went nuclear when it did, that the smart money is on alphas. Oh and some of the first ones to pop up even declared they were alpha keys.

The alphas aren't exploited. They're sending them out by the truckload to people who signed up for it previously. Its also being added to everyone's library who already own XCOM. I signed up for the alpha twice a few days ago, once via Curse Voice and once via IGN to be sure I got at least one and both sent me single keys about a day and a half ago. Last night, I got two seperate emails with 4 more keys in each of them. They just want people to play it and are giving keys out to get more people to play.

Its highly doubtful that every single one of these GAs is for the Indonesian price screwup.

At least two of the GAs on the front page state its the Alpha key. Others are giving away the game and do not have a gift of it (but have other games) in their inventory. The price screwup was not for "keys". It was a Steam store foul up so the only "legit" GAs of this game that are possible are gifts.

Its a good bet that the majority of these GAs are for the Alpha.

i just used a key someone posted in other thread and it worked and its no gift and there is no date when it expire - so i dont know

The Evolve Alpha keys show up as just "Evolve" in your library and it doesnt differentiate between Alpha or Full Version, it just shows up as "Evolve" like it would any other game. It will disappear on Nov 2nd unless they extend the alpha and theres no indication that will happen.

Another way to tell is "View Downloadable Content". Full legit versions gotten from the Indonesian store will have "Monster Expansion Pack" listed. The Alphas won't.

Isn't the full games DLC title listed as "Evolve - DLC" ??
Now I'm scared as I got it as gift and under the DLC tab I see this I wrote.

GMG and GG are both selling the game. It's not as likely that people are buying them at full price to giveaway but it does happen. Given the chance of the Indonesian games being revoked I'd say keys from those store where more legit if anything.

They're both selling the game, but theres no chance that either of them are providing the keys for them this early. No way 2K would supply the keys 3 months in advance.

Most are not. The majority are ballbags, who haven't bothered to read the FAQ, giving away alpha keys.

Well, you know when 90% of the giveaways say they are alpha keys in the description, they are probably alpha keys and not people trying masquerade real keys as alpha keys.

Easy. If the gifter has a gift of Evolve in their inventory, its legit. If they are giving a key, its almost certainly the alpha. There is no place to get the full game in key form yet. No retailer has keys for a game thats not out til February.

Well yeah, theres no way to tell for every single one of them, but many of these GAs have open inventories and have gifts other than Evolve.
