L4D2 is number 11 on most played.
L4D isn't even on top 100.
So I imagine not too active.

Might be empty because the community makes the game less fun then actually playing by yourself, seriously, its like everyone is hitler in that game, "go this way its quicker", "do that now", "Wait here until that creatures passes", "don't have fun, do what I do", "my dad never hugged me, fuck you".

Never had that experience to be honest, maybe its like that now?

Well, "be that class" didn't happened that often (mostly objective mode), but "camp there" order is practically build into KF - unless you're a 'Zerk you stick to whole team in one defensible place in map.
And if you don't, well, you're lucky KF has much more troublesome kick system, as most people can't bothered to press escape and select player and click kick, as opposed to L4D's "press f1".

Never played Objective mode, not sure honestly.
No one ever told me to camp also, I mean people usually just gravitate towards certain areas(Tops of buldings and such...).
Community is just better in general from what I recall.

Why would anyone do that exactly? O_0
Of course you are gonna get shit for that, sorta like going on a Unreal server with the name Pro players and messing up a teams score....

He hugged me once. Don't feel left out, 'cause that shit is way overrated. Man smelled like rotten fish and dog food farts.

You mean Hitler was a bossy little ten year old with daddy issues? Wow, you learn something new every day. The history channel lied to me.

Because L3D1 does not have things found in the second game?
LFD1 has no Jockey, Spitter, or Charger among the specials. I don't think the first game has L3D2's maps, either, but I could be mistaken about that.

We tend to play it, daily. Definitely a game you want to play with friends.

Personally, I usually didn't have any problems finding a group of people to play with in the first Left4Dead.
Left4Dead 2, on the other hand... people do play it, mostly the PvP, but often it's not a very enjoyable experience IMHO. I wouldn't be surprised if the Left4Dead 2 servers were rather quiet.
That said, I would definitelly recommend you giving L4D 1 a try. It has completely different atmosphere, much deeper than L4D 2. More... apocalyptic :)

I just installed Left 4 Dead 2, but it's pretty much empty.
I can join Group servers, but I'll have 300+ ping?
Some people prefer Left 4 Dead over Left 4 Dead 2, so how active is the first game?
