Activity of Left 4 Dead

Not very active...
If you wanna have a good time, play with some friends :)

L4D2 is number 11 on most played.

L4D isn't even on top 100.
So I imagine not too active.

Might be empty because the community makes the game less fun then actually playing by yourself, seriously, its like everyone is hitler in that game, "go this way its quicker", "do that now", "Wait here until that creatures passes", "don't have fun, do what I do", "my dad never hugged me, fuck you".

From what I saw, l4d1 rarely got over 1k active people, this time of day (for 2) does tend to be fairly quiet vs a few hours ago mind you but still should be somewhat active.

Why play LFD1 when LFD2 has all the LFD1 stuff?

It's one of the top 15 most played games on Steam.

Ahhh, so it get's active at night for me.

Personally, I usually didn't have any problems finding a group of people to play with in the first Left4Dead.
Left4Dead 2, on the other hand... people do play it, mostly the PvP, but often it's not a very enjoyable experience IMHO. I wouldn't be surprised if the Left4Dead 2 servers were rather quiet.

That said, I would definitelly recommend you giving L4D 1 a try. It has completely different atmosphere, much deeper than L4D 2. More... apocalyptic :)
