Lokonopa just posted syntax for including images, and I'm wondering whether or not they should be disabled. Any opinions? Will they be useful? Abused?

Edit: Images disabled.

I can't see how they would be needed.

Maybe do a trial period? It might be nice, but I could see it turning into an imageboard situation (people using captioned pictures in place of replies) and I kind of enjoy the text-only discussions.

Uh... It is white, or extremely close to white? How does it appear for you?

That looks fine on my monitor. If you're having difficulty reading text on that colour background I don't think your monitor is calibrated. Check out this website.

The background has always been a light grey, never white.

I've changed my monitor contrast, and its back to how it was.
but everything else looks wrong, Its just the contrast between the text and the backgrouns isnt fine enough or its the white dropshadow type stuff on the other text just hard to read.
Maybe its me being tired too :/

Thanks

If anyone else is experiencing issues, let me know, and we can try tweaking colours. Otherwise, there's always the option to enable 1990s mode.

Wait, everyone else sees it differently? I see "under construction" .gifs when I log on.

No. The picture above is too large, it expands the discussion too far and it will make mobile browsing way too data-intensive, not to speak from the loading times for 3G / UMTS.

That was one of the problems with the Markdown syntax on Steamgfits is that you cannot constrain the image to any proportions, else you could "=150x150" and force a giant image into pretty much a thumbnail. That wasn't the case and a 480x800 image could swallow a thread.

No, this forum does not need everyone slapping annoying banners to the bottom of their posts and communicating in rage faces.

I vote no also. I like the text only conversations as well. It's also annoying when someone posts some huge pictures that stretches the page.
