I don't recall seeing this thread around here and I think it's a pretty cool one. You can either recommend someone a game or advise someone not to waste one's time on it. I'll start.

Mark Of The Ninja - A very good stealth-action game. It's like Splinter Cell but in 2D. Although I admit there were times when I was a little bit bored. Overall it's a very good game. Solid 8/10.

Here's a collage of all games I've beaten over the years on PC:

You're playing it, you tell me! j/k

I didn't play 1, but played 2 and then this. I enjoyed it! The Desmond story is the most interesting part, to me (especially the end). We don't get enough of it!

Normally I wouldn't skip, but when I started playing the series, everyone said 1 was too repetitive and you could play 2 and not really miss out on the story arc.

1 decade ago
Permalink

I think the second one was repetitive just as much. There was just more variety. But it was also repetitive. Anyway, I enjoyed the first one and the second one really much. I'm gonna start playing Brotherhood soon.

And right they were. There is no going back to AC1, it's not even in the same league of the sequel and really nothing essential in there, felt more like a prototype compared to the rest. Assassin's Creed 2 makes a fine starting point.

Don't trust him! Lol
I think that the first one is the worst game of the saga without a doubt. It's boring, easy, full of bugs and to be honest after playing that I reconsidered not playing any other game of the saga again. But after reading too many coments about the second one, i can say (imho) that the second one is funnier, more interesting and way better than 1.

The Desmond story? You should check out Assassin's Creed III... Dat ending! All I'll say is that you'll have no idea what is going to happen after it XD Once you play and beat it for yourself, you'll understand what I mean.

1 decade ago
Permalink

LOL, the Desmond's story is bullshit. Ezio is one of the most likeable, interesting, bad-ass and all around genius level written character in a game. Right up there with Niko Belic from GTA IV. Desmond's just a whiny little bitch.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nico? I didn't care for his character unfortunately. I'm not saying he was a horribly written character, because he wasn't though I would only label him as "Average" at best. However, even as an average character, he just didn't appeal to me. In fact very few GTA characters do.

I'm in love with FPS games but...are you actually satisfied with the campaign of the CoD series? The only campaigns I probably enjoyed in that series is probably World at War and Cod 4: Modern Warfare
The rest failed to impress me... =\

Agree with this ^^. Everything is an opinion, of course, but MW2, MW3, and BLOPS were not very good by my standards. I've owned and played every Call of Duty since the original, including the early PS2/Xbox versions. The original trilogy will always be my favorite, but Call of Duty 4 blew me away the first time I played it. It didn't matter that it wasn't a 20+ hour game - it was so original at the time that I loved it. After that, not so much... World at War was a nice attempt at going back to its roots, but it was a miss for me there as well.

I loved ME1, disliked the changes from ME2 but got used to it and appreciated all the improvements, and even quite liked the guns from ME3, but it all fell apart for me when I realized that literally no choice I made in the series impacted anything whatsoever. Fun series, but just do whatever you like without trying to go for a good/bad ending. You'll always get the same ending without consequences.

Best game I'e ever played. <3 I would do ANYTHING to have my xbox play it again! ;-; But...I got Star Wars: The Old Republic. Combat sucks though, (Only realistic part is the blocking) (I'm level 15 so I have no need to block because I'm on the starter planet) ,the story-line's good, (It introduces some main characters in Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic) ,and your companions just get in your way. (Durinng battling they'll jump in front of your cursor, thinking you want to talk.)

Just finished Mark of the Ninja here as well and was really impressed with it. Compared to the developer's other series (Shank), it's night and day. Shank didn't appeal to me and I wasn't too keen on playing this, but after hearing so many good things about it, decided to give it a go. Glad I did. The game is just so unique and fresh and definitely deserving of it's praise. 9.5/10

Actually did Mark of the Ninja 100% and I thought it was the best stealth game I played since SC:Chaos Theory. Certainly didn't bore me, you could try New Game+ for more challenge. Which actually gives you an achievement that is an homage to Splinter Cell.

Also 100%ed Sonic Generations and Grotesque Tactics. Other things in my recent list is everything but the challenges of Arkham City base game and some other stuff I'd rather forget :p
But the others I've really enjoyed for the type of game they are, nice mix od stealth, platformer, satire RPG and action adventure, for some reason I decided to go all out on them..
