Support forum is like the normal forum, older tickets get buried by the newer ones. Reply to your ticket so they can see it.

As far as I remember the ticket system is broken and they go nowhere....atleast nowhere where any of the mods can read them.

You have to enter the chat to get things done.

That's only true for "normal" user reports.

Support tickets get handled.

Note: I added "normal", because the SG+ addon fixes this problem, by sending user reports through the support ticket system instead.

If they go through the tickets in a logical order, the older ones first, wouldn't bumping just put your ticket to the bottom of the stack?

Hmm, I see. No, to not bump their tickets in most cases would rather imply that there is nothing to add into the matter. The issue remains unchanged. The person has patience. The person doesn't want to appear too entitled or annoying. Or just that they don't realize that they need to jump and wave in order to be noticed first or all.

Importance then again is a relative concept. Some people cry and yell for everything, while I probably wouldn't consider most of the tickets there are that important, not to mention worth jumping and waving for.

A ticket opened for 1 month and you whine??? Are you serious?

If with 1 month you whine, what shall i do about my 4 months opened ticket???

PS: Let's get this straight. You have not paid a shit to this website. When you actually pay nothing about a service, you cannot have claims on it nor demands. So stop whining and be thankful for a free, safe and cool place some people provide you!

Of all people on SG/ST i'd love to see you as a mod seeing as you do tons of stuff for us already, ever considered applying when SGv2 comes?

I'd love to help out, since it'll speed up incident reports processing, but I'm not sure I'll have enough time to dedicate to the tasks.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah that's what I was thinking exactly, instead of filing all those reports in the spam thread on ST you could easily just close threads instead and ban if needed, we've got mods for other tasks already anyway that would just lighten the load for all, in any case if it ever comes up you have my vote!

Just because this site is free doesn't mean we shouldn't expect some form of response when it comes to support issues. People who donate games to this site are the ones that make this site as good as it is and since we do indeed pay for the games we donate, we do pay for something.

You dumb or you pretend to be?

  • Do you actually pay for the hosting or the domain name of the website? No.
With the traffic it gets every day it would need either a huge VPS or a great package of resources and cores. So, the Upkeep? High!

  • Do you actually assist in the administration of the website? No.

  • Do you actually have assisted or assist in the development of it? No.

Then how on earth do you imply that you pay for something? Besides, nobody asked you to do giveaways. When you will actually pay or assist this website in hand, you can have demands and expectations.

Kido, when something is actually free as this website is, you should be thankful if you get even the slightest attention. Get into their position by hand and then talk again. If you actually contribute to the website, i'll take back my words. But since you won't...

Gifts Won 18

I think those stats are clear enough, he has contributed A LOT, in fact he's given away tons of great non bundled games which extremely rare nowadays so this guy has the right to complain unlike you, someone who's leaching from this site.
People like you are the reason members like him have been leaving in masses, how about you take a good look at yourself before you start calling people "kido" and "dumb".

Non bundled giveaways = higher site traffic = more add revenue /discussion.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Do a research and check how much is Google's rpc (revenue per click) and you'll see that the yearly revenue of a single add banner is drop into the ocean. No one pays better than Google for ad banners, so you can assume that sg is taking even less than it could from gmg and the others. Of course both google and the other machines are not mad to pay you just for high traffic, many other factors participate in the rpc you'll receive.

Before you reply again, do make a research (a decent research will take you at least a month).

Permalink

lol
Next time when trying to act all wise, try to keep in mind what the discussion was about.
We're not having an argument about how much google pays or GMG for that matter, we where discussing YOU being a dick to a member CONTRIBUTING to this site, unlike you.
It doesn't matter how many "clicks" are being generated, all that matters is that with 1 guy like him this site is alive and well, yet even with a 100 guys like you it won't get a single new member since you're just a leach, get it now?

If you actually contribute to the website, i'll take back my words. But since you won't...

And there we have it, the reason for this discussion, care to take back your words now?
I've never claimed guys like the one you attacked paid for upkeep out of their pockets, all i've said is that basically giveaways are clickbait, and each high value giveaway makes this site more relevant thus contributing a bit when it comes to paying for the upkeep.

"Non bundled giveaways = higher site traffic = more add revenue /discussion."
I commented on that. You didn't get it (yet again ...)

Take back my words? Words carefully placed and with justification have no reason to be taken back. Did i say anything wrong? By hand, i did not. Making giveaways is on the far other side of contributing for the website. When you or anyone else implies that by making giveaways he/they contribute for the website has no difference from saying pay taxes supports the country's economy while you do not pay them.

After 2 days, you and your buddy still do not seem to understand the point i make ... shame :( The other users who also commented got the point immediately. But that's just not enough. You cannot even understand that i tried to reply to your last comment ... Discussing with potato-heads is useless so ...

... Yeah, whatever you say, leach.

Permalink

I've spent lots of money to create giveaways here. I paid for those games, without people contributing, this site wouldn't even exist. So, that, in fact, does entitle me and everyone else who contributes, to a timely response from support. It's the holidays, so they're busy, that doesn't make waiting for a response any less frustrating.

And quite frankly, check your ****ing attitude.

Permalink

So, based on you, whoever makes a giveaway contributes to the upkeep of this website, right? Make giveaways is the same with paying for the upkeep of the website which btw should be much bigger on a year basis than the value of your life-time giveaways?

Cow-logic achieved!

Dude chill, I understand your point, admins and mods do what they can with their own ressources and we, the users, don't finance them in any way.

HOWEVER, we, the users, are the ones keeping this site relevant and functioning through the gifts we share... so yeah, people shouldn't be so hard on the admins and mods since they have a huge workload with a non monetarized site (at least I don't see any ads here), BUT also cut the users some slack too, specially people who have given away over $1k value on gifts (non bundle premium ones too).

It's all a matter of patience and tolerance, a couple of things that gamers seldom have.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

thats one thing

However giving away games doesnt magically pay off the hosting and bandwith fees. Also Im not sure any of us have any right to tell them how to do their job

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

the point isn't to tell them how to do their jobs, as I said "people shouldn't be so hard on the admins and mods since they have a huge workload with a non monetarized site", the point is that it's understandable for people to get frustrated after months of not getting any support and it's also understandable that the admins and mods do everything in their power to keep the site running efficiently.

As I said, it's just a matter of patience and tolerance from users towards the admins/mods and from users towards other fellow users who are frustrated. We should try to ease the tension not just tell them their opinion is shit and they are dumb since they don't pay the bills of the website.

You guys are funny, I've been waiting for over a year for one of my tickets to be resolved. I doubt it will ever be completed.

Still, the mods have lives as well. Just be patient, you can wait. If its super important, try hanging around the SG chat and hope that you bump into someone who cares and has the power to do something about it.
