I need to make a computer, I was going to make this computer but I don't think I can anymore.

I have a budget of 500-700$. So yea, any help would be nice. I've been told I should get nvivida but I don't know shit about computers lol. Feel free to post a build for me, it would be a great help. <3

But yea, thanks for helping.

+1, stick to it or get ideas from it but it's a good guide. Nvdia has better driver support, plus some games support PhysX for some extra physics but it's not a HUGE improvement. Right now both AMD and Nvidia have good cards but will be intoducing new models so you should expect some price drops on the current models. What should interest you is performance for your buck, refer to comparisons. And don't go too cheap on the monitor, look for reviews, there are some good offers around depending on what you're after.

Hmmm so when do you think they will drop in price?

I'd guess within a month.

I could deal with that. Maybe they will have a big juicy sale...

I think the sales ended on it. So it would probably cost more...

That build looks fine, maybe upgrade the power supply though to 600-650W.

Depends on your purpose for getting it, reply here and I'll see what specs would be good enough.

I'd like to use it for gaming and whatever else.

I one day plan to make Let's Plays,. if that matters.

My advice is to go nvidia, much less problems in my experience(Yes I owned both, AMD has been slacking lately imo, they use to be my fav).

Also make sure to sign up for all the tigerDirect, Newegg, Etc... newsletters, they often do crazy sales through email only. I would aim for an i5/8gb ram/GTX560ti, its the best bang for your buck.

Its a good idea, make sure to compare prices with Amazon also, they sometimes beat them out for a lot of stuff.

So prebuilt or not? Also, what is included in the budget of 5-700. Do you have monitor/mouse/keyboard/OS?

I'd like to not do prebuilt for a better machine. The budget is the case and everything inside it. :p

I have a mouse, I have a spare keyboard, I don't have a god monitor but that won't be too hard to get.

I have OS I believe.

Rig1

Rig2

My personal recommendation, with a single GPU(the 560) you won't really see any discernable difference between these two CPUs(the AMD 965 vs the I5 2300), however in general the Intel CPU is faster in everything(there was no 2300 so I compared the 2400 vs the Phenom 970). It's up to you if you want to spend the extra money, both rigs leave upgrade paths to new CPUs, the Intel letting you upgrade to Ivy Bridge, and the AMD, to Bulldozer. Also, since the AMD build isn't nearing the roof of your $700 max budget unlike the Intel's you could get a better GPU if you felt like it, or 8gb ram instead of 4, or even go from that 500gb HDD to a 1TB.
