I got from them:

  • Far cry 3 (uplay)
  • AC 3 (uplay)
  • Skullgirls
  • Goat Simulator

Paid only 2 pounds for all because of the Playfire credit

  • What games did you bought with you credit from Playfire?

Same. I only bother with games I enjoy, otherwise it's too much effort for not enough reward.

me too, I started a thread here two days ago that I suddenly have 8 euros GMG credit for nothing, I thought it was an error, then I found out it was all credit for doing achievements and playing games and I had no idea, so I took Tomb radier for that credit :)

You only have to wait a little, like 24 hours xD, the same happend to me.

1 decade ago

its wait a while after you log into GMG proper. If you dont log into the store front it will never credit. (I think I have 2 months sitting in my playfire I still need to move over to GMG)

Stupid question, but can anyone tell me how it works?

On PlayFire it says:

£1.65 earned to date
£1.06 balance
£0.50 library

And I can't login to gmg anymore (nothing happens when I enter my password).

The password must be correct. When I enter an incorrect one, it says "Please enter a correct username and password. Note that both fields are case-sensitive."

But I guess I'll try that, thanks.

edit: Woah, it's working! Thank you!

I missed (on purpose) most of the playfire discussion.
But I'm kinda curious, how is this profitable for GMG? How can they give you "free" games for just forcing you to play certain games?
What's the trick? Where's the revenue coming from?

1 decade ago

I assume people may buy them just to try and earn money back

There are 848645556 sites on the internet selling games.
I doubt this is their one and only plan.

It's amazing how little effort I make for free money even if it just playing video games. They may add up over time, but I rather would be playing a game that I actually enjoy. The system would be worth it if they allowed you to get money for achievements you already have.

That's how I view it for games I don't have. The only game I bought because they had it featured was Goat Simulator, which I was genuinely curious about anyway. However, for games I have that I never bothered to try, I've messed around with them for an hour or two to see if I liked them. Finally played Fez because the whole game was featured, and I ended up playing it 6 hours and getting more than the price of it back.

I'm one of the moderators on Playfire, I'm not one of the staff but they keep in close contact with the moderators. The rewards system has a few kinks the staff are currently trying very hard to work out, so it may or may not work 100% for some. I'm happy to see that word of the reward system made it's way over to SteamGifts and that for the most part people seem to be enjoying it. I love both the SteamGifts and Playfire communities so it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside seeing threads about Playfire on here. :P

If you think another user is cheating the rewards system with achievement unlockers you can report them and we'll look into it.

You should bug them to modify the release schedule of the rewards for new releases. Having it set to once a day is nice and all, but it's kind of bad for new releases. Playfire shouldn't discourage people from playing a game at release. With Lego Hobbit I had to wait a couple days until the rewards were added.

That could be caused by regional releases - they wait for Europe to be able to play, or they would have to make it easier for North Americans to get all the achievements since they would have 3 days more.

It still would've been about a half day after European release.
