Yeah, that shit really needs balancing. Back in the day, player-killing actually required effort and skill. Now it just requires you grind for some money, or steal it, and then go buy a gun, so now you get a fuckton of griefers all doing this. Advanced Legal Systems does help a bit, yes, but not nearly enough to compensate for the totally lopsided unbalancing.

No worry about that, it comes pre-installed with your hardware body interface. Can't even uninstal it, kinda like Internet explorer with Windows OS.

I keep hearing players SAYING that the devs will patch it--some say it's gonna happen real soon...no, like, real soon, as in, it might happen tomorrow so I'd better prepare for it by abandoning what they say are alpha-only features/bugs/other stuff and anticipating new beta features, or something. Thing is, they keep on giving wildly divergent content predictions, so I don't know who to trust...not to mention that I don't see that stuff happening anytime soon anyway.

Who the hell wants to buy that crap. It's hard to play and hardly rewarding at all. Yeah, so you have a slight chance of striking gold or some other mineable ore. But otherwise it's dry, dusty, and hard to set up your base in the entire game area.

I'm only at around 45 hours all games added, though no more than 3 hours on Warband, but the series is great. Even if With Fire and Sword was somewhat badly received, I had loads of fun with it. Defending Cities with grenades and big muskets and massacring armies with a few elite troops is extremely satisfying.

Well, I spent 150 hours of that time in first 2 or 3 weeks after buying the pack, later I was busy with new Deus Ex and didn't come back for real. Last time I was so involved in a single game it was somewhere around 2009, playing Anno 1404, first game in many years I spent whole night playing without noticing it.
I was interested in M&B for quite some time, most of my friends played it for long time too, but when the game got officialy published in my country I considered it's price as a rip off. The game had no distributor before and there was quite big interest among players, plus the game had good reviews for it's uniqueness so I think they tried to earn extra cash. Skipped the title and just bought it few months ago.
And I can clearly see why you spent so much time on this title ;). I'll invest more time on Warband and Fire and Sword when I finally buy new laptop, thanks for advice. And sorry for wall of text in your thread, haha.

And yeah, i love Mount & Blade: Warband. Got 76 achievements and spent 64 hours playing this game. But this game is totally not for choleric.

I don't think being short tempered is really a problem with this game more than others. It does recquire patience and flexibility though.
