Hey Guys, I have a friend of mine that can´t join because he hasnt reach $100 in the account. So my question is, if I buy a game with steam wallet, but I buy it as a gift, and I send it directly to him, does it adds $ value to his account? If that´s so, how much time does it takes to sync/refresh the $ value?

I do think gifting games should count towards the value of their library, but I'm not 100% certain...

Yes, it will add value to his account.

Please note...
Bundled games DO NOT count toward your account's value. Please check this bundles list to know whether or not the game will give you any value or not.
Simply Ctrl+F, then type the name of the game. If the game is in the list, it won't count toward the account's value.

I bought some 90% discounted games, but they are all individual games.

PS: I checked the bundles list, For example, I bought Deponia, which is in 4 different bundles, does it count or not?

If they were bundled once, they will still count as a bundled game, regardless of where or when you bought it.

Ok, I see, so almost no Indie game counts. Well, that kinda sucks :/

Umm...since when owning a bundled game doesnt count for your 100$ ?

I dont know, maybe someone here misunderstood OP. As I see the thread is that his friend cant join Steamgifts (not a giveaway) because he doesnt own enuff games on his account (cus you need to own the games for at least 100$ value to join Steamgifts). And OP is asking if the gift counts to the person account value. In short - no, it doesnt. The person needs to add the gift to his/her account. Having a gift in inventory doesnt count towards 100$ account value

Hmm, I assume he meant activating the games to his friend's account.

Yea but you wrote that "Bundled games DO NOT count toward your account's value" - this applies to your contributor value on STEAMGIFTS account (or more that it applies past 30 USD CV). I dont see any such point in FAQ that bundled games on your STEAM account doesnt count towards the required 100$ to join the Steamgifts site :P

But it does. That's the very reason we get so many users coming in the chat, asking why they cannot register even thought they own many games.

Oh well that kinda sucks then. Having tons on games and not being able to join cus those are bundled games. Totally sucks :(

Yeah, it does, in a way.
But I assume that it's the only way to avoid users from creating multiple accounts.

Checked, and as I said. Bundled games will not count toward your Steam account's value.

I have another question, If I buy this bundle:
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/33962/

Does it count? Counts all games value?

Ah, that's different. This doesn't count as a "bundle", unlike Humble Bundles, IndieGala bundles...
So yeah, that would be a good choice, IF it isn't already on the bundles list. I'll check now.

And to answer your edit, yes. If the game is in the list, it counts as a bundled game. I'm not 100% sure whether it gives only a small amount of value, or not at all. Most probably the later.

they give 0 value.

As for OP that mentioned that "it's a gift not a bundle" (was mentioned somewhere before) - all SG can see is your friend library and games he has in. Even if you give him Deponia gift - steam will show it as "Deponia" not as "Deponia giftable copy totally not coming from a bundle". So as SG has no way to tell difference between a game coming from a Bundle and game bought in Steam Store the only fair way is to assume that any game that was avaiable in Bundle (or on -95%+ discount) could be purchased this way and should not count because of that.

If he redeems them(games), then yes. It doesn't work, if it's only in inventory.

Nope, not always. The games must not be bundled.

I understand that. What I'm saying that it counts only libary not inventory.

Yeah, but you didn't mention the fact that not every game count toward your Steam account's value. Just thought I'd add that.
