Welll... here´s the thing

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=ru

this makes anyone access the Russian store... i haven´t tried to buy yet, i´m just wondering if it works... i can go all the way to checkout and it´s possible to pick a credit card, paypal is not available on that for some reason....

note. if you clicked your broser will save this option, so to go back to your native store, paste the url on your address bar and change the end to your locatioin.

IE

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=us

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=br

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=jp

and so on....

I am curious because i see so many russians selling games like crazy... this may be a loophole. I won´t try myself because brazilian steam store is actually cheaper than russian.

If it was possible, don't you think anyone will buy from there?

PS: There is no PayPal in Russia.

yes - use ip maskers, but you need a credit card from russia to buy anyways (or some other russian money services)

IP maskers and other VPNs can cause problems to your account.

you don't have to use it on your own account, use it on a dummy account - I know someone who does that.

Writing this can give you SG suspension/ban.

Nope. Must be in Russia to buy from Russia, otherwise Steam writes something along "wrong country" and either stops checkout or restarts cart with your IP prices.

Funny thing is...

The Secret World is not available on brazilian store... But if i paste that code with the US store, i can buy the game... i can literally go all the way thru checkout and pay for it and i´ll gave the game on my account with no problem. I did this wil Bully also that is banned in brazil.

Why would you WANT to buy from a Russian store if you're not Russian/from Russia/etc.?

Currency convertion makes the russian store cheaper than US store.

Euro region benefits even more from it, because it doesn´t have to go thru dollar convertion to reach native value...

That´s why the brazilian store is cheaper for me than russian. If i buy in ruble, the value is first converted to dollar, then converted again to BRL, and since the dollar has reached a high value in here, makes it a bad deal.

No, it's not possible to do that simply by switching stores - Steam checks your current location by IP and matches it to the payment method you use.

Nope, you can get a Russian friend to help you out, but Steam has been wary of users who constantly use this backdoor arbitrage.

Make sure the game you get is also not region restricted.
