Hi there!

Donkey Crew, creators of the most popular mod for Mount&Blade: Warband cRPG, have started a kickstarter campaign for backing their own game Melee: Battlegrounds (cRPG is a multiplayer mod with rpg elements like exp, skills, clans and so on). It looks really promising (to be honest I think it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen). There aren't a lot of details yet but it seems it will have one of the best fighting system in video games because weapons are physical object so they collide and you can hit literally anywhere in 360 degrees.

Five game modes and they've done their own mode named Stronghold. Imagine building a castle with your team, buying siege equipment and creating strategy (multiplayer RTS actually). Then you attack your enemy castle and they can attack yours! And you're the fighter! It's damn awesome! I can't believe something like this can exist! Up to 200 players on server! And they said even "wooden pc" can handle it due to their own engine!

Here's the link, btw - Melee: Battlegrounds

Looks really good. There is another game in the works similar to this one. It's called "Kingdom Come: Deliverance", utilizing Cry Engine 3.

It's similar a bit but Melee is more about huge online battles (200 or more players) and Kingdom Come is about role playing (devs said you can even be a bard and don't fight at all) and it won't feature multiplayer, only co-op.

Honestly sounds good but indie multiplayer only games tend to not end well. I will keep an eye on it tho.

It was the best about two years ago. Now it's a casual "swing them to death" arcade.

looks good....yes sometimes kickstarter show up something serious, with a reasonable goal.

That's a lot of claims, and 130k is really not that much for a 17-person studio. I would hold back on putting money on this.

Huge goals are usually set because of software licenses, hiring musicians, art designers and other ("disposable") personnel. These guys are making everything themselves so it shouldn't be a lot of cash

They reached 15.000$ first day. Give them your money, I want to play it badly.

Damn, here I thought another "salad kickstarter" or "poop simulator".

And since it's just good game, I wouldn't call it "best", you know? Still, game looks fun.

It can still be "the best" from my point of view as long as I'm OP.

definitely their game is on my watchlist.. maybe spent 2years playing crpg instead of having a life lol...

but buyer beware though.. crpg has a hit and miss small community... it has a helpful and good natured community members... but it is also plagued by alot of trolls and cheaters(mostly in strategus; even for a free mp only mod).. some of my former guildmates in crpg are now regretting donating to them due to the devs seems to have bias when it comes to punishing offenders(then again this is due to strategus, imho)..

They've made more than 2,000$ in one night so it's almost 24,000$ now. Also they've added new update about music and sounds and it seems they're recording even in mountains!

I'd back them but hell 20$ is too much (at least for me)

You can pledge how much you want but pledging 21$ and more gives you a copy of the game (so you actually pre-ordering it) and games usually costs more after release than on kickstarter so it's not so bad.

If I could pay it, I would, but for my current economical state, it's too much.

I'm in the same situation really. Real life concerns always have to come first. Besides, the game looks like it's well on it's way to being funded. Nobody can play the game if they starve before it gets released, right? Haha.

Nice find. Thanks for bringing it up in the collective gaming kickstarter thread. I would have totally missed this if you hadn't pointed it out.
Looks like it'll definitely get funded either way though. <3
